Has anyone used the american racer (or other brand) dirt racing tyres (the ones found on the front wheels of a sprint car) on the drag strip on a street car. The tyres look like a fairly soft compound, just wanted to know if anyone has expirence with them or if there even aloud to be used on the drag strip.

They used to be called Mcreary tires.
They are a fairly good tyre, however they are a cross ply tyre. which means you SHOULD run a crossply tyre on the front as well . Andra state if you run 12.5 or quicker then you have to. The M/T ET Street radial is a radial which means you can run standard front tyres, and will work better. Well worth the extra cost from American racer. but to answer your question they do work fairly well, and yes you can run them at the drags.

Yes as stated above used to be McCreary's .They do work ok on the street but were one of a few type sticky tyre availablee years ago,there are better now like the MT radials or ET streets.
