Default Goodbye to Mr Hardware's AU - bonus photos!

After 10 years, I have retired the big AU. I've finally put up a build thread - Click here to visit it - it's got 10 years of photos and mildly interesting history. Tell me what you think!

Thanks for the years of support and camraderie, it's been great. I won't be around as often anymore, but i'll pop my head in from time to time.

Are there any AU I6 owners still here who were here in '06?

I was here in 04, and have 5 AU's, 2 I6's and 3 V8's.

You'll be back, they always come back to the mightiest of Falcons...

Me! Me! Me!

Coincidently I'm preparing mine for sale as well.

I'll advertise it here first (for cheap).

I'm hoping someone with history in here grabs it but it's going anyway.

It has been enjoyable in here. I check in most days but don't post much. Very rarely visit FG or BF or Focus sub-forums.

Always great to read these stories and reinforces that general maintenance upkeep pays off in the longer term. My 2, AU2 never let me down and the SR has done 70,000k in the last 3 years with only repairs being the water pump tube green O rings, roof lining and a new bootlid a month ago due to rust @ total cost $509 plus regular maintenance items including replacement exhaust. The XR8 has done 50,000k in 10 years and needed a sump plug, water pump bypass hose and front discs machined and caliper seal kit @total cost $535.

Yes, I do suspect I'll be back. In the time that I had big red I also had 3 other AU's - all white AU1's (S-pack, Classic and a mont Ghia).

They really are the best Falcon ever. Anything before the AU is just too basic and agricultural, anything after is too dull, heavy and sterile.
