Most of us know there was two 'Stangs used in the movie and that the less damaged one still exists hidden in a barn, but looks like the one used for the stunts that was thought to have been sent to a wreckers in fact didn't and has been found -
http://jalopnik.com/the-lost-bullitt...-me-1792985833 and just confirmed by Marti Auto Works - http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2017/03/...-confirms.html Nice find and hopefully with the 50th anniversary of the movie coming up next year, along with a rumoured new Bullit Mustang from Ford, the reclusive owner of the other Bullitt 'Stang will wheel it out. |

Would like to see pics of how it was found and the modded bits. The big on was always a hole in the boot area for a generator (used to power onboard camera I believe) exhaust, That panel pic sorta looks like it could be it.

Doesn't sound like there was much Mustang left of it anyway.
Lots of old damaged panels and no driveline. Might be a bit like Grandpas hammer I think

Even though we can, through the wonder of YouTube, see videos of crash tests of old cars we may own, like the 1982 Celica of mine, in a crash test at 50kph into a solid block where the passengers didn't hit the dash or pillars, and the doors still opened.... Be a good little consumer and go buy a new airbag-filled little hatchback... I agree...lots of cars that legend says were "destroyed" in movies undoubtedly were. But even in the old days they had "hero cars" and "stunt cars". Look at the original Dukes Of Hazzard TV series...how many Chargers went to scrapyard heaven? Hundreds apparently, but the couple of hero cars would have suffered nothing more than cosmetic damage... |
