Has anyone noticed a differance in performance with a carbra on because it blocks the airflow to the standard air intake on a turbo between grille and bonnet. Has anyone made a modification to their bra to rectify this problem?

G'day Heath,
I haven't noticed any drop in performance at all. But lets put this in prospective though, at highway speeds of 100 - 110 these motors are not working all that hard. I wouldn't use one on a track because that maybe another story. I was also led to believe that they make the car run hot but nobody on the Darwin trip last year who had car bras experienced this problem. Ken

Drew seems to be forgetting that the car bra he loves to show off and brag about isn't actually his.... mmmmmmmm
it belongs on an EF XR6 not an EL XR6.....  : Heath was your car bra specific for your model of car?

Yes it is an oringinal Carbra for the XR6
Ive had my car edited today and just wondered if it would make any difference to air flow. Now it needs every bit of air I can give it. I was thinking about putting an Typhoon/XR8 inlet under the headlight but the Carbra will block that one as well. Anyway see how it goes on the weekend. Not to worried its not like the Bra will be on all the time. |

As per Ken's comments, I havent noticed any difference to temps with the car bra on.

Ditto, we drove to Darwin and back with the car bra on our turbo ute and had no problems whatsoever.

In the Superior 8 (not a dasterdly six) I have driven around Willowbank without any overheating problems, that said at the skid pan on sunday without the Bra it did get a little warm not, hot but warmer than normal

I think I can withdraw this question now.
I drove to Gympie with Carbra on for the first time. There was no problem with temprature or performance. In fact the gauge is slightly lower since edit, and performance, well I'm still smiling. |
