You don't have a leg to stand on. A what point were you in control of your vehicle?

Frustrating... but lesson learned. Wont be parking on a steep driveway and using hillstart assist again. Pay to fix and move on from this

If its a steep hill and you're not use to the car just use the handbrake to find the friction point and get your revs up then just before its about to stall let the hand brake go and give it some more revs, shouldn't roll back at all.
After a while you won't even need the hand brake.

Maybe its a dual clutch auto. I find the VW transporter vans I drive at work do not like the handbrake being used. Its better just dropping straight off brake pedal to accelerator with right foot. If you use the handbrake and apply accelerator as you release the handbrake you get roll back.

Race, ive been thinking about this throughout the day, can you explain how it happened, and how you think it "failed".
The Hillstart on my kia doesn't work everytime, definitely not in reverse and only holds for a maximum of 2 seconds after releasing the brake pedal.

Never had a problem with mine, its always on & find it works well, I also drive other vehicles & bikes that don't have the technology that the focus has, so, at these times I use normal driving skills. He just asked if it's a problem that anyone else has had.

It worked in both directions on my Trend. But it only holds the car for a few seconds.
My car was a powershift auto so it didn't get used often. |

Is it set to auto or manual? I find mine won't always turn on (but it will always show on the dash if on) in auto so I have set to manual and just press the brake pedal down when stopped.
