At the top right of the black engine cover there is a small hole.
Some models had 2 small black line pluges
You might have to do some mods to your air intake
Some pic would be good to see what we're looking @ here
My 2003 sedan has 1 small black line pluges to where our 2004 hatch has 2 small black line pluges

it should be your rocker cover air breather/filter
if you go to supercheap or autobarn and get them to have a look they should comfirm it. im pretty sure it is. the aftermarket filters for it are about 15bucks

Who and where did you get this air intake from?
Should of had more info on how to do this.
Is this a new filter or a new air intake system?

It should go into your new pod filter and go's into your engine cover.
Where did you buy this?

Theres a few ways he has gone about this
1) just a new air filter.
2) removed the stock air box and put on a new air pod for around $30.
3) new whole air intake system.
Until I know more, I'm not going to say anything.

The line is a vacuum line that goes into the rocker cover.

I bought myself a Drift mini urethane air breather yesterday and gotta tell ya it made a bit more of a difference. From 3000 rpm to 6000 rpm it was a more smoother run in the rpm.
Gave it a bit more grunt as well.
Also put back in the bottom of my stock air box intake system.

All I need now is a Mustang 70mm throttle body and Zetec intake manifold for max air intake performance. ahhh...sweet...lol
