The fact is, no one is buying these massive fuel guzzlers. The little Tiida's and Barina's and other small 4cyl cars are winning the competition.

I thought that the Territory has been selling like hotcakes ever since it was released? Its probably slowed a little now, but that's normal for any new vehicle release. Every 2nd car on the road seems to be Territory. The fact that they chew a lot more fuel than a Falcon hasn't bothered many buyers.

Is the terry available with e-gas? That surely would counter the Captiva's diesel spin...

True, However....the Territory has the Luxury of being the first on the scene and developing a repore with the Market...something that no level of marketing can do. Holden can market the Captiva til its blue in the face but at the end of the day, people will buy what they are happier to sit in and drive.
Facts also remain...and people will remember this...Territory won Car of the Year. Something the Half Baked Captiva didnt.

comon guys!! Holden is playing the marketing game.... they are comparing a 2.0 Diesel with a 4.0 lt petrol. Sure the Diesel uses a lot less fuel, it would want to at half the size, with 70% less peak power and 20% less torque!

Haven't you noticed that all the soccer mums by 4WDs these days? Gone are the days where the parents would load their kids into the back of a Ford or Holden station wagon. These days, they all buy either people movers or 4WDs

Our TT (my wifes really) is 2 weeks old and a magnificent vehicle regardless of the badge.

The captiva is according to a friend who works at GMH "ordinary" and "Just Korean Junk" he was amazed at how good the TT is.

I would have bought a diesel if it was available. That V6 TDi motor works a treat in the Landrover & Jaguar products and gets 9l/100 in a 2.8 tonne discovery. I would be a sensation in 2.1 TT.

But now for the pointy end. Why not offer it in a Falcon sedan, and before the crowd jumps on me think of the benefits of a full size car with a mountain of tourque that would get an estimated 7l/100. This is an engine thats smooth enough to be in a Jag and the prestige euro stuff all has diesel options. Its not my thing excactly but not all the world wants and XR8/GT style car.

XRD ute anybody...

Just an idea..
