thats gotta suck, because its fairly expensive to fix that hit IMO the best way is to have both doors replaced / reskinned |

My wife had a shopping trolley pushed into her SP Mazda drivers door by some inconsiderate bannana brain.
Just a small dent on the door the quotes were $541 & $590. I gather it would be over A $1000 to fix. buickman |

That has gotta ruin your day.. Everytime i go shopping i alway walk around the car before i leave just to check for damage.
I use to live in a tourist town in North Queenslnd and worked accross the road from the main shopping centre. Everyday you would see some tourist in there van run into a car and just drive away... They don't even stop to look at the damage.. |

Years ago (mid 80's) younger brother had genuine XW GT, parked out of the way at Box hill central to p/u girlfriend, on returning to car, notices a car being loaded with groceries, then notices the trolley rolling away. You can guess the outcome...... nice big gouge in front door & guard, no apology or offer to pay for damage, just hopped into the car as if nothing happened. Guess where the trolley ended up?. On the bonnet of the car.!!! I know this is true, because i was home when the police called around!, luckily it was sorted out without legal action. I think the copper actually sympathised with my brother.
p.s. he was a bit of a hot head in his younger days. (39 next week). cheers! |

Younger brother saw some dopey tart in a 4 wheel drive do about the same damage to a car at the local KMart car park. She just backed out and parked again a cpl of rows further away. So he wrote her rego and his contact on a bit of paper and stuck it to the damaged cars windscreen. Inconsiderate pri++s like this shouldnt be allowed on the roads

I feel for you, I hate carparks. I'm willing to bet it was an SUV that did it by the paint and the indents they left. ing_sm

my wife was driving the car , she was waiting for a park when another woman back into her . the dents are from the towbar on her car(fairmont). she said that she did not see my wife sitting there. AS IF !!! then she tryed to say it was not her fault yer right , the front door i'd say can be repaired , the rear is twisted so it a throw away.

I was lucky with my old car, somone backed into it with a towball, but the only victim was the front numberplate.
As a general rule at shopping centres i'll park up the back of the car park away from everyone else, or as close as i can to a concrete pylon or gutter. Then at least i know i've got one side covered from damage, and there's a reasonable distance to the next car for their doors to swing wide open.

That's real nasty. Yeah, I know about friggin carparks and shopping trolleys/car doors.
There was one on my passenger side when I bought it, didn't look real bad, but I noticed a new one recently. I've kept my cool thus far. If I see a new one, I'm gonna snap. People can't friggin park either.

In the city I saw a cop in a new Rodeo paddy wagon reverse park right into a delivery van (Toll Fast) ... now seeing as I'm a courier ... I hate the fact that people can't park for peanuts in the city ... and cop then realised it .. and tried to drive straight out of it and drive off ... it was a shame I maanged to stand right in front of him so he couldn't drive away.
Also had my clipboard in hand writing his details down (still standing in his way) ... he told me to get out of the way ... I politely let him know that fleeing the scene of an accident is illegal and I have his details (every single detail I could write down). I hate seeing that ... and a cop doing it and trying to nick off as well ... NO WAY. The owner of the van got back and noticed the commotion ... I let him know what the cops did ... Boy did he go off the deep end. The cops still tried to get out of it ... I took a few photos with my mobile phone as well. The cops eventually gave up and had to give details .... ooooh were they p155ed off indeed.

See thats why I avoid parking in shopping centre carparks if I do I usually park away from everyone so no A'Hole can reverse into me.

Ouch, thats nasty. Car parks are one of my nightmares, if I have to go to our local shops you will see me parked right down the back away from everyone. Then I worry about the car sticking out like a sore thumb and someone deliberatly doing something to it. At christmas time if I can't get a lift to the mall with friends I catch the bus. The GT-P is almost 2 years old and has no parking dings. (Fingers crossed it stays that way.)

The woman who backed into your car is obviously at fault, so I hope she had insurance. If not, I hope you have insurance, because you will be able to claim it as a 'no fault' accident, but you will have to pay the excess.
Still a pain in the ar$e though... |

My friend's car was hit in a shopping center, trashed one side completely, the offender didnt notice and parked next to him. Went and did their shopping and general stuffing about but had not returned to the car before my mate did.
He was visibily angry, and went to the police to report it. When they asked him if he had the license plate number of the other vehicle, he simply placed the license plate on their desk where he had ripped it off the car with his bare hands.
