Anyone know how many ST170s have been sold / shipped to Australia?
I noticed one today - probably the first one I have ever really noticed - they seem few and far between. Mick. |

they do look sweet, I actually like the colour of the imperial blue too.
Ever since I have bought my Foci and always check out the other Foci in more detail than before and am catching a few ST170's getting around.

Only one shipment was brought in in 2003 of 110 or slightly less. There were no further shipments, as far as I know.
Matt (zetec) will know. |

He he he too right Lincoln!!!
125 in the first shipment, I'd estimate roughly about 150-160 in total. There was a main shipment in about Feb 2003 (the 125) and then a few in 2004. I should be able to find out at work, leave it with me. I sold 2 of them, one to Lincoln and the other is that one in your estate Whippet. At least I believe so, on the lower side of Windsor road there on the way down to Parklea Markets right? Used to work at Power Ford. I know of one write-off too. So minus one from the total of "still alive" ST's.

I believe more than one has been written off. CGU won't insure the car at all... apparently based on a higher than average number of claims on them... baffled me as there are only 125, so say 20 were insured with CGU... would 25% of them be written off before they stopped insuring the car? Just my conjecture... but from that, I reckon more have been written off.

The number is officially roughly 140 or 145, I can't find out for certain yet, but the first batch was roughly 125 (2003) and the second was about 20 (2004). I know the whereabouts of about 20 of those all up, maybe 25 through meeting people, knowing people and selling some.

Yeah, I was originally told 3 in Australia, tops, by 2 different sales people. That's why I bought it. I didn't even see one in the flesh until 2 days prior to my delivery, from Hornsby NSW, to Perth... Thats what got me asking the question, as I'd originally assumed that there was going to be the first in WA.
As it stands, I bought the LAST one available for sale in Australia, how lucky's that?! I love the ST170. 16.1 at the drags, killed a R31 there. On the street, blown away 2 STi wrex's, every wannabe VN driver and a couple of V8 utes. You have to bait people to race you but... So many people just see a little blue girls car when you line up next to them... I need "Fvck'n... Race ME, yacahn!" stickers on my doors... |

All it takes is a good caning to convince them to take you seriously. I've killed that many Falcons, Pulsar SSS's and Commodores before it ain't funny, Corollas, heaps. Imagine having an ST!!!

Yeah man, since there wasn't a ST available when I wanted to test drive one, I took a black 4 door zetec for a spin, and I liked THAT car, so your zetec, just times it by 1.5... then you have an ST.

I reckon I have seen one at the Regency Tafe, I used to work at the Queen Liz Hospital, The ST was pulled up at the lights on Days Rd.
