I lowered it!!!

Well ive saved up my safeways money and finally lowered it and put in a head unit.

Im very happy with the results ive got. Also happy with the price to lol.

Yer It was easy to do to. Cost $80 to do the whole thing lol. Got a set of pedders springs for free off a mate from work and bing very poor at the moment (damn safeways pay + expensive head unit) i put in 2.5 inch lowering blocks untill i can aford to get them reset.

And it begins, youll certainly feel the handling difference even on a Wagon, dont think i could ever drive a falcon with stock suspension for too long.

Looks like a pretty cool headunit as well, i reckon with some window tint and maybe some clear indiactor lenses and yourwell on your way to wagon coolness.

Its no to bad. No matter what you do its going to bit a bit rougher if you lower it. In my opinion go for it. Ive been watchin your wagon thread for a bit to. A guy on ebay sells lowering blocks to suit. I think you click on the link for 2 inch blocks and you can then order custom sizes like mine.

Also some tint will come eventually. Im savin for 2 sbs n an amp next. Then some BA XR 18s. It will take a while but its definatly worth it. Im lovin the look of it

WTF? So basically if you don't drive a Tickford, you don't care about handling? Since lowering my Ghia, I'm much happier with the handling, and also I prefer the way it looks. And as for mags, with the Ghia also coming with factory mags, am I meant to take them off and replace them with steelies with hubcaps? I seriously hope you weren't being serious because if you are, you're an idiot.

Wagons can look cool with a bit of work. There have been a few very tough looking wagons just in the e-series section alone (look for pictures of neb's old car and you'll see what I mean). Sure wagons are usually bought because thay have a lot more space, but they don't always have to look like mum's taxi.

lowering a wagon is not going to make it look more sporty wagons are for middle aged ppl with kids who take the occasional holiday

Nice looking Wagon there, much nicer now its lowered. Let us know how it goes, i am looking at a 2 inch drop on mine. Though right now i can just get a coke can under my centre muffler on stock ride height. =/


Ill disagree too.

Wagons are for people who want a massive amount of space or actually like the look of them. Wagons when lowered look ace, no they don't look like sports cars as they aren't, but no reason they cant look nicer with a lower ride height.

Exactly what is your point? Sounds like your making an attack on wagon owners, especially at webby 191189 wagon in particular?. The car looks much better then what it was before. If you dont like the lowered look of a wagon, then say it in a more apropriate manner. Here's and example,

"I tend to favour the standard suspension height of wagons, over the look of a lowered example ".

I admire the amount of effort webby 191189 has put into lowering his car , and the results has proven how good it looks now. Just keep your comments within reason, so you dont wreck this thread for everyone else.

hey metalhead_mike go annoy someone who cares. I chose a wagon because i am planning to travel alot and i like the shape of wagons. If you dont like my car leave. Thanks for the positive feedback guys except metalhead_mike.

Also i didnt exactly waste money. For the whole job it cost me $80 and im very happy with that. Show what you can do if you do it yourself.

And by the way if your a commodore fan go to a commodore forum not a ford one.

Wagons are for people who have kids or like the extra space. Nothing wrong with spending money on them to make them look & go better. Try owning one & see how handy they actually are.

Thanks GUTLES. I love mine the space is great. I can sleep, fit fishing rods, tool boxs or pretty much anythin else i need to move.

Went for a drive over some rough dirt roads and corrigations and it handles fine.

Are any of you guys having ground clearance issues? I really want to lower my wagon as its on stock height, lucky the LPG tanks when full lower the back a smidge. I would like to go superlows and 1.5 or 2 inch blocks.

I crawled under neath to see if i had much room to play with and i am battling to get a can under the center muffler. Im getting a new exhaust system next week so maybe it will sit up a bit higher, but im not that confident.

I havnt had one yet but i only did it today. Ive got 2.5 inch blocks in mine so id say go 2 inch if you've got gas. My muffler isnt very low so i havnt had much trouble with it either.

I just recently sold mine but originally got it to fill with audio gear and travel alot... then the kids came a couple of years later.
I had it on King Lows and 17" wheels and it handled great.
