Default Bobtails

Hey all,

Could you fit a bob tail from a BA DJR 320 kit onto an AU?

I ask as I am thinking about using one with my XR50 kit.

How much wider is the boot lid on the BA's to the AU's?

cheers

the B series boot lid is a lof flatter than the AU

Definitely will have a problem with the AU curve vs. the BA flatness. On the other hand, I've often wondered if it'd fit an AU Fairlane with little hacking. I have always liked the Grange's little lip.

Im getting a series 1 bobtail fitted to my au2 in 2 weeks. They are shorter in length than the series 2. The only cover the boot, and dont overlap like the S2 version.

Are the T-Series bobtail spoiler any different from the ones off a Ford classic?

judging by how the BA spoiler over hangs on the AU lid probably about 10mm wider on the BA but thats not really the problem... its the curve thats on the boot and the angle the AU boot droops down......

Probably a wrecker, or Ford themselves. But be prepared to pay.

This has been done to death in another thread somewhere, but the series 2 Classic bobtail is different to the T series bobtail. Subtly so, but definitely different. There's comparison pics in the other thread. I know AWC sell the T series bobtail, since they took their mould off the genuine one that's on my car. 51RTE is right though, they only have 2 bolts, so the other 2 bolt holes from an XR spoiler will be evident if you're replacing one of those.

Oh, if anyone wants to buy my genuine bobtail, I'm selling it, complete with a Fairmont, for only $7500. ;)

I'm pretty sure the T-series bobtails are NLA from Ford, but were ~$1250 anyway, which is crazy.
