2013, 135,000 km, air con' has died suddenly about 6 months after a re-gas.
The auto electrician advises that the air conditioner compressor clutch has burnt-out or otherwise gone open circuit. I've been offered two options; get the clutch rewound for about $650 installed, or go the whole compressor unit for about $1250. Wondering if anybody relate how well the compressors last, and so the likelihood that it will be fine and we can go with the cheaper options. Thanks. |

2009 MB 270K compressor was leaking refrigerant around the relief valve. New compressor from Ford was $750 around Dec/Jan.

Car has 235,000km and AC has never been turned off, if the car is running them so is the AC, still going strong. I use the heater to control temp inside the car and the AC stays on permanently. |
