Sorry for the dumb questions but i have a Fairmont AU II (late 2000 model). I can't tell if the rims are 16" or 17".
I have the stock standard rims that come with the fairmont. I have never really taken any notice as to what the exact size of them is. Can any shed some insight into this OR can i actually measure the rim from top to bottom to get the correct size. The reason i am asking is i just bought a BA falcon and i'm replacing the standard 16" with some 17" mags but don't want the waste the 16" new tryes that are on the BA. Thanks in advance. Dave |

If they are just the standard steel rims they will be 16".

just look on the tyre where it says for example 265/35 ZR20
265 being the width in mm, 35 being the tyre profile in mm, ZR being the speed rating and 20 being the size of the wheel in inches. so urs would be something like 205/55 R 16.....id say yours would be 16's someone correct me if im wrong;)

I thought the speed rating was stamped beside the load rating, ie 245/35 R17 98V not 265/35ZR20
245 - Width of thred 35 - Profile as a % of width R17 - Rim diameter 98 - Load rating (not sure how its worked out) V - Speed rating (starting at A going to Z. A the slowest Z the fastest (290+ Km/h)
