Default another flash tune question

Hi all,
I will soon be getting a flash tuner from KPM and I know its better to have it custom tuned to my car, but is there anyone out there that has used the generic tunes on a au1 forte. If so, was there any appreciable difference to the performance. I have 4480 pacies and a 2.5 redback installed at present. I would be interested in hearing anyones opinions.

Ps If this subject has been done to death, my apologies.

Huh?! lol... Right there good, get one, you'll enjoy it and notice the difference, A custom tune is the way to go. It'll have a bit more poke. Its not gonna drive like an xr6 but for the money... Its and alright mod. R.I.P lol

well the generic tune i put on my car increased throttle response but thats it, it didnt go as hard and used alot more fuel, im back to factory tune for now and the car is heaps better and better fuel economy, they work differently on any different car, its not guaranteed to work either. Do some more mods then custom tune it.

Get it flash tuned and custom dyno tuned by pro's....

You will notice an over all increase in performance, mid range torque gains they told me would be most noticeable.

Expect around about 10 kw's i guess on a 98 octane tune. So factor in the cost to flashtune it and custom tune it, then the extra money you will spend using 98 octane...

I guess to sum it up the flash tune will round off your car just that bit better.

if you have the spare cash go for it!

I have an AU1 Fairmont, same engine, same diff, same trans same every thing.
With a 2.5 inch cat back, and K&N panel filter, and ticky intake, I was doing 15.8's. People up here can back all this info up as well, and I have timeslips to prove it all.
After Generic tune, I was doing 15.3's, consistently, no other mods. Still got 600-700 k's to the tank.
Now with 3 inch exhaust, 3 inch cat, pacie comps (4480's), K&N pod, front cut out of airbox, and 3 inch intake, I do 14.9's, consistently.
The KPM box is the single best, bang for buck mod Ive witnessed, and with 40 000 trouble free k's on the box, and still getting 600-700 to a tank, I can deffinately say its worth it.

Sorry to mine this old thread, but there was no point in me creating a new one for this question.

For those with flash tuner boxes, does anyone know if you need to re-upload your tune to your car IF you have disconnected your battery for a short time?

Thanks Russ. ;)

Would you recommend doing the normal procedure for resetting the ecu still?

now I just got to remember which channel my tune was on. :

Is there anyway of checking which tune is what easily? Or do I just keep checking each one?
