It has to be before July next year.

FG is still only new, so why the haste?

Because the law is that all new motor vehicles that are to be sold in Australia after 1 July 2010 must comply with Euro 4 emissions criteria. At the moment, the Falcon (and Territory) do not meet these criteria.

100% Correct.

Expect both a new Falcon and Territory next year. Also expect a new Commodore, Aurion and Camry to appear next year. Toyota is hurting, because, at the moment, they can't give away their Camry par.

It won't be the current V8. Loads of potential though!

My view in this thread is that there are more than likely test mules of both cars on the road right now being tested. Others have different views, however we have yet to see photographic evidence of any mules on the road but a forum member claimed on Friday to have seen a 2010 Territory mule heading back to the plant.

EDIT:

Rumour is the 5.0L 'Coyote' V8 that has been slated for the new Mustang with get the gong. It's a Ford-only motor, nothing to do with Jaguar.

Does Ford even own Jag still? I thought they sold their stake in it.

The v8 will be different, But the inline 6 will be the same just improved for emissions and most likely better economy.
Can i ask why?

Exactly.

Expect the 4 Speed auto to not be there, either.

Oh, and yes... Why?

Mid next year, mild exterior facelift (perhaps "blink and you miss it" such as EA- EB or BA-BF) slight changes to colours interior trim and options etc.
New V8, I6 given overhaul, a slight retune of tranny, steering and suspension,
Job done. FG2 or FH

As to "All new Falcon" 2012 is my guess. And it could well be WAY different.

Expect Bigger changes to territory, its in trouble, i would say lots of effort and resources would be there right now.

Wasn't there something about an update to the FG platform down the track called 'huntsman' or did I just imagine this?

From what I can gather, they have done away with code names and just gone with the industry standard "MY10" etc, but Huntsman was the code name given to the 2010 Falcon BEFORE the original I6-killing-off announcement was made. It was allocated a different name for the V6 project and when the V6 was canned...well, your guess is as good as mine.

FG has only been out 1 year. Why is anybody in a hurry to see a new one? Yes there will be a mild update next year (think Euro IV compliant engines, most likely in the form of an updated 4.0L I6, and a new V8, and not much else)

Soem people...Asking about a new falcon, gesh.

Huntsman was (/ part of) the global RWD development, now canned.

There will be no 'new' falcon next year. Just new engines ect, a FG mk 11. in about 3years years i'll predict we will see a mild face lift and 2015-16 will be a all new falcon.

Thats my guess anyway.

EDIT: something retarded happened because i tried to type in between quotation marks...

EDIT 2: it's because the two letters happened to be F and K!
