Default Hot Wheels display?

(Not sure where to post this question.... this looks like the right place.)

Just putting it out there to see if anyone has any ideas on how Hot Wheels can be better displayed. Whether at the general type shop, toy store, or anywhere else that sells Hot Wheels, their display is the same. Squished.

I spent some time today (oh ok, quite some time) going through racks and racks of Hot Wheels. Hot Wheels here are placed on long metal pegs with the front of it turned upward a bit, probably to help keep these Hot Wheels from sliding off. Only thing is, there's barely any space between each peg of Wheels. I slid my hand between each rack of Hot Wheels to see what make/year it was, and in the process dropped quite a bit of them. I ended up checking 5 rows of Hot Wheels, each row with at least 7 columns of Wheels. Then, I spent more time putting back those that slipped off or came off each peg. So here's my question. Is there any other way that Hot Wheels can be displayed so that the make/models can be looked at without dropping a handful or more? I realize they can't be dumped into a bin to be sorted.

Might give you some ideas and stuff!

I've actually got a proper display case thing which is meant to hold 24, in their packets. Was given it for my birthday but don't have it up on the wall yet, haven't had time. Must find out where my friend got it so I can get a couple more though.

Edit, sorry just re-read and realised you're talking about a shop setup?

I'll have to read through 14 pages of your thread.... got through several so far. But yup I was asking about shop setups. Surely there must be a better way than drop many as I look at the models of Hot Wheels.... isn't there?

I tend to memorise the number in the top right corner of the pakaging that I'm looking for as the top corner is usally easliy visible without moving all the packages.

As to a better display? I dunno, but I've seen plenty worse. Try looking for certain cars when they are all thrown together in a cardboard box like most toyworld stores in my area.

So it's either in a big box or hung on those long pegs....guess it's the same everywhere. The prob with the big box is the packaging gets damaged and bent. There must be a better way to display these cars so the car is easily visible.

Memorizing the # is a good idea. But you'd have to be taller than the displays to see the corners. At the last shop I was in, I had to tiptoe to even move the top row to see the car. No way could I see the top right corner of the packaging. Good idea though.

Dunno what the problem is, it's fun to fight over who gets to look where when you're with a mate, and cry "XB COUPE!!" or "TREASURE HUNT!" and see the reaction. The way they display them is fun for these games!

And reaction of nearby kids too? Nah, haven't seen many into XB coupes, and what is Treasure Hunt, please explain?

I'm thinking this is the same as girls going shopping and finding the perfect bag/wallet/sunglasses/shoes/heels/clothes/jewelry and getting excited.... similar?

Yeah, the amount of times I've done it to you and you still jump with excitement, I don't think it will ever get old!

The other gold one is finding the "Scion XB" ugly thing and then claiming an XB find!. Because hey well, its an XB!

When i have been looking for the cars i look at the number on the bottom right i wrote up a list from 1-214 and crossed them of as i got them. It worked good for me till the list went through the wash the other day. but i only need 7 more in the 2010 sereis.

I was going to do the same kind of thing, but electronically on my phone on a mini-spreadsheet so I always had it with me in store.

That was when I was trying to collect the entire 2010 series. Then I changed strategy to only collecting real cars, and ones I want/like.
