I'd like to add auto down to the driver's window of my AUIII XLS
I've looked at adapting the master switch unit from Ghia but couldn't figure out how to get it to fit into the ute two (2) switch moulding - like it was suggested in one of the other threads. I'd prefer to have just 2 window switches in the drivers side armrest, with auto down on drivers window Am I missing something?

can't be done without major rewiring the whole wiring harness and BEM are different you would need to modify a high series sedan main body harness then use a high series BEM and change both door harnesses, even then you would still have a 4 switch unit in the drivers door with 2 dead switches

I was just thinking about the same thing today in my ute 'bout 2 hours ago. Damn I miss that auto-down button :(

Hi. DEI ( http://www.directed.com.au ) have a window lift module which gives one touch up and one touch down without an alarm and with almost any alarm windows up on locking and with a suitable alarm you can add window vent (down 25mm at a time) or window open. Put one in a mates xh and its real trick. Cheers MD

OK - the PonyPerformance one touch window module kit will work in an AU ute
This is what you get in the kit and you need to follow these instructions but use the AU wiring diagram to find the right wires The wiring conversion from the Mustang swith to the AU switch is Blue/Black = Grey/Yellow White/Black = Yellow Yellow = Red Black = Black This is what you get in the kit Remove the Switches by gently levering the trailing edge of the switch panel. It is held in place by a spring clip Remove the plug from the switch (the white plug is the drivers window) - you have to reach between the switches and depress the catch while you wiggle the plug to break contact with the switch Eyeball the switch so you know where the wires run. Check that the grey/yellow wire is 12V when the the ignition switch is in accessories or ignition. If you wire the unit into the loom using the included wire tapping terminals, you will not be able to get the switches back into the arm rest because of the bulk of the terminals The unit will fit more easily if you solder the wires from the unit with the appropriate wires from the switch or join the wires by replacing the female terminals in the plug The one touch unit will fit inside the front or rear of the armrest Test that everything works before reinstalling it all
