In all honesty mate for the $$ involved and power you'd get, youd be better off blowing it...

yeah ive already got the vortech on my xr8.

im seriously thinking about going the stroke........ the kit itself is fairly cheap.

the labour involved would be the killer.

btw, do you need to retune it when you add a stroker kit? something i havent really thought of......

How much money do you have to spend?
How fast do you want to go?
Which AU 5.0L are you starting with i.e. std 175 or xr 185/200/220?

remove, rebuild and refit the engine is the cost here not so much the parts as you rightly say. If you did nothing else at all the power gains of around 10% wouldn't be worthwhile. Of course building up a stroker with decdnt heads extractors and manifolds with an edit bigger injectors etc different story.

yeah mine had a complete engine rebuild and now has 16000 klms on it.

its got gt40p heads, extractors etc etc.....

i think the tourque would be the real winner if i went the stroker route now.....
