I'm having some issues trying to determine what oil filter I should be using in the ST170, I've spent quite some time trying to find the info but I'm starting to go mad!
Ryco and K&N don't have anything listed against the car, Bosch lists the same filter between all the early model Foci but from my research to date it would seem that the Duratec ST takes a different filter to the Zetec due to the higher oil pressure. To add to the confusion, K&N do have a filter listed against the SVT. So, based on what I know: K&N recommend HP 1012 for the SVT, this should suit the ST. Bosch recommend QF 259 for the ST, but unsure if this would be OK. Ryco recommend nothing, however if Bosch is correct in listing all early Foci as using the same filter I should be able to use the Z63. Of course there is the Ford dealer parts option, however the guy I spoke with yesterday didn't fill me with confidence that he got the right part. What are the DIY'ers out there using? Cheers Jon |
