Default help this dumb idiot

i am a dumb idiot with cars

so today i parked the car at shops, and the plastic sheet at the bottom, of the front of my ford au99', seemed to have scraped the curb thing, in shopping carparks. i got worried so i slowly reversed and got a terrible noise. I got out and saw that a plastic sheet was half hanging on the ground, other half still bolted in. So i got out screw driver and undid the other half that was still bolted and put the sheet into my boot and drove back home.

Is it safe to drive without that sheet, is something gonna fall out of my car now, should i get it replaced?.

heres a picture of what i mean

It'll be fine. Worst that could happen is that your engine falls out through the gap, but it's pretty rare. LOL.

it's a splash guard...it's ok to drive without it.

I have an aftermarket front bar and as yet haven't made a new splash guard to suit, so I'm in the same boat as you..

I've driven through all sorts of weather with no ill effects.

edit: you'll know your motor has fallen through when the car stops... ;)

Its a pretty dodgy piece of plastic if you ask me. Mine has ripped a little and have had a few nuts go missing.

The only thing that will happen is that your car may get a little hotter on hot days as the splash guard helps to direct air flow to the radiator. My one was off when I got it and all I did was attach it with some screws (Ford wanted $50 for the correct parts), it's still sitting there too.

I'd be more worried about him facing backwards in the drivers seat!

That picture has made my day, I don't often smile while at work.

pfft, my dad hit a fox and it ripped the whole thing of the little bastard. we then drove it around for about 6 months with a cracked bumper, no black inserts and no splash guard. all been fixed up with a complete new bumper splash guard and new inserts which fit into the corners, also the above the splash guard was given a clean.
now up for sale lol in perfect condition.

From the supplied picture, you got on of the Falcons with a touch too much front overhang. There were 27 of them made. I believe it was a foreign exchange day at Ford, and, well, it's not hard to find the cars the exchange students worked on.

Seriously thugh, mine is actually torn, so I can't even screw it back in. Scapes everytime! I know if it scrapes, I haven't hit the bumber yet!

1. Dont call yourself a dumb idiot.
2. The drawing conveys a message. How many times have we seen someone come on here and try to explain something and people cant understand them and want pics.
3. AU's rock.
4. Get Whoosha to do it.

if theres one sure fire thing to cheer everyone up, its a picture of a great, double decker car with the driver facing backwards about to be "shafted" if he brakes suddenly. unfortunately, due to the overhang at the front, its more then 60% of the wheel base, this vehicle is un roadworthy. so back to the drawing board for my friend!!:P:P:P

Mine tore in exactly the same fashion but didn't come right off, was still attached at the screw, or some of them. I was going to get one off a wreck but ended up using a couple of cable ties to hold it back up and it's as good as new. For now anyway.
