Default AU IRS shock mount FIX - Take 2

This has been cleared with forum admin.

Taking off from the original AU IRS shock mount refurbishment, I'm in the
process of designing a new one from scratch.

Reason being, is it's been a slow process of organising old
units, plus the additional time it takes to strip, clean, etc.
Another reason was the idea came about for height adjustment.

I've essentially designed a new mount from scratch which simply replaces the
existing unit, and has all the redeeming features of the exchange unit I had
already developed, though no more.
Because of the way this has been designed, with a couple of minor changes and
some extra parts, it can easily be made to incorporate height adjustment.

Height adjustment without having to change springs or shocks. The original
springs can be used, or naturally after-market, however more importantly the
original shocks can also be used when lowering, as the same travel is maintained.

As this is still in the design stage and hasn't yet been fitted up to a vehicle,
this thread is more to do with interest in either of these new units.
It could still fall in a big heap, though that's not likely.

The price of both styles will be more than the current modified units I already
make.
The current mounts go for $250 outright.
The new scratch built mounts will likely be ~$350.
The new height adjustable mounts ~$450.
Once again, a donation will be made to AFF with every purchase.

To recap, the new standard scratch built mounts offer no advantage over the
current re-manufactured mounts, except that I will be able to make stock and
send out as needed (I won't be held back by supply of old mounts).
The new height adjustable mounts will allow rear ride height to be altered
without changing springs or shocks.

Please give me feedback.

Edit - I would likely also offer a buy back scheme for people with my original mounts, who would like to go for a height adjustable unit.

Cheers Sox. 195,000 k's and I haven't had any trouble with the shock mounts but if I do this is where I'll come to get the solution. Not sure if that helps, but that's where I'm at, and I suspect other too. Al.

I suspect that I may be up for some replacements after 165K, so it will definitely be looking you up if that is the case.

Great work Sox. Good luck with it.

Both of these new units will be at least a month away.
The original ones in the other thread will be done next week.

The height adjustable ones will need to be unbolted from the 4 studs at the top. Then shims added or removed. So it won't be a quick 5 minute job. I'd guess it would take the average bloke 1/2 hour.

Payment can be made when I have them ready to send via direct deposit.

I made a start, but for a few reasons it's been shelved and most likely won't make a comeback.
