A pretty graphic demonstration of why ICE emissions need to be drastically reduced -

Take it to reddit hippy.
If you hate cars so much, why are you here? Funny how you keep praising tesla when it’s been proven ice powered cars actually are way better environmentally, when you take into consideration the heavily intensive co2 burnt mining all the precious metals used in the batteries. Especially when it uses coal powered power to recharge them. |

I know that ICE are on the way out, that is going to happen with manual transmissions too. I'm a tech guy but the bogan in me says I will buy petrol as long as I can. Price and range is a big problem here with electric.
I remember I went out for a smoke the other day and I noticed a very nice HSV GTS. And it took me a long time to click there was a Tesla behind it because it looked like a ****en fridge. I have this argument all the time with a bloke I work with and unless you grew up here with a Falcon or Commodore in your driveway, you just won't get it. |

The bottom line is it’s on borrowed time and GM frinstance are going almost entirely electric. The board simply won’t pour money down the emissions drain as unit sales trend down. Mega city administrators and legislators in general are on the PM2.5 warpath. Australians have zero influence in any case.

We will see what happens but I'm not confident of GM achieving anything. I deepthroated a **** load of PM2.5 this whole summer (literally the worst air quality in the world at one point) and while it was **** a summer I'm still alive and kicking on. Not a real strong argument here unless we have raging fires burning all year round |

If the thread is about your electric vehicle crusade let me know so I can move it to the thread that caters for that.

Either way the ICE will be gradually geo-restricted, leasing companies will trend away from them, your local government and business fleets will also and sales numbers will be the death of them. The Boards answer to shareholders not enthusiasts. Mods couldn’t always check it out - living IN the car is safer than out of it.

Nobody needs to worry about the future for the ICE - Cuba is our model..........but only as long as the monied interests behind the refinery is happy with the continuation of reduced fuel demands.

Moved to the Bar as the OP seems unable to to provide a straight answer.

Local councils with assistance from various Health Departments are doing a great job finding suburbs where ICE is rampantly used, although I'm not sure if the toilet paper is a help or a hindrance...

The Yanks are the worlds number one producer of oil (a net exporter now) and natural gas.
Pipeline network is/will be vast - Dakota Access pipeline, Keystone pipeline, Burgos Pipeline. Drilling permits take 1/3 of the time to obtain now. E-15 has been approved all-year-round. And bills have been signed to start exploring (digging and drilling) in Alaska. And that's not taking into consideration their war machine/Space Force or future infrastructure expansion/upgrades. |

Could this put China in the back seat again? The Allies won WW2 on a sea of oil and the yanks have generally had the lion's share of power over it ever since. With this, it could severely undermine China's continuance to take over the pacific either economically or physically. What would China's take on this be? |

Yep, Australia is a really big contributor to Global warming/pollution/ozone layer depletion/toilet paper shortage (pick one you like)
