Thinking about new car sometime next year and what options.
Current car is a Focus Zetec 03 Options thinking of at present. New Focus Zetec, black with a nice set of 17"s Peugeot 206 GTI 180 (I think a bit small) Peugeot 307 and possibly a diesel (noted a lot of comments on a previous thread on diesels) New Focus ST (will it ever reach Australia, and won't be AWD) Golf GTI Audi A3 Peugeot 407 Peoples thoughts are welcome. I expect people to suggest the focus, which I tend towards because my current one is just so good and the new ones read as being better. Its a question of I am happy with the focus, but can I justify spending the extra. |

Focus ST, Golf GTI, or Audi A3 would be my shortlist.
But if you don't want to spend those bucks, a Black Zetec with 17's would be great value

I'd get a Golf diesel over the Peugeot diesel.

In my opinion it falls down to two categories:
Mid-size Hatch: Ford Focus Zetec if its petrol, Golf 2.0L Diesel if you want economy (But it needs the optional 17s) Small Performance Hatch: RenaultSport Clio 182 over the GTI180 and Golf GTI... based on bang for your buck, and the amount of fun you would have in one... But Golf GTI if you need the space!

It's clear which one solves everything there (apart from fuel economy) but to hell with the fuel economy, if the price is going up then I'll double my usage to get my share of the fuel before it runs dry. The other problem is of course that the ST isn't here... there's always the reload button. Open the ST minisite and click reload 50 times... then run into the cold shower... mmmmm. If England wins the ashes, I might even have MORE incentive to move to the UK!
NOT.
