ok guys so iv finally got off my butt and taken some pics of my car.
A little bit about the car and how i managed to pick it up due to my work contract i was entitled to a company/drive car, however due to being 18 i was unable to get one until 21, so i took the otehr option of having a car allowance. due to having the extra money and needing a car i thought why not buy a focus! Great little zippy car and great on fuel! Plus i love the manual gear box in the focus, best iv ever experienced. The car itself is a May built focus zetec. At the time of purchase i also bought an alloy handbrake cover, alloy sports pedals, sports gear knob, and the chrome fog lamp surrounds off the coupe cabriolet as the plain black surround was a little boring and dull. (Great little mod for those wanting a little extra touch to the front of any focus!!) The stereo system went in within 2 weeks of having the car. Its a full clarion system including the double din head unit with touch screen capability, bluetooth, reverse camera, dvd, cd, usb input, ipod integration (ipod displayed on the screen) As you can see in the pics i also bought a 1000w sub with a mono block amp, and 4 way channel amp to run the 4 6x9 speakers and tweaters in the door panels. sound system courtesy of autobahn. Il be getting rear headrest screens and tv antenna with set top box installed in the near future. Im also looking at getting HID lights installed next week, and on the way are the lexus black rear tail lights with the black reverse and fog lights courtesy of our best mate european-parts.net In the next month or so i am looking at getting a set of 19" wheels (see photoshop thread) and getting it lowered. eibachs or king springs is what i am tossing up with atm. The wheels il be looking at getting are a hyper black/black with a polished/machined lip as it would look great against the pure silver. An exhaust system is to be installed hopefully next weekend by Herrods with a custom dual set-up like the XR5T. as well as the exhaust i will be looking to do the CAI and a cam set-up with a custom tune. any help or recommendations would be great as im new to the car scene. This is my first car too so im stoked! : brad |

Looks great Brad. I like the screen in the dash. Something I'm hoping to do at some stage.

What tires are you using with those Ford 17 x 7 rims -- 205/50 or 225-45?

thanks for the compliments the chrome fog lamp is the whole chrome and black bit, its as easy as unscrewing one single screw and unclipping the surround, and replacing it with the chrome part |

Yep, that looks hot - and if its going to look that low as well.... wow.
Btw, been thinking about that rear plastic. Is that piece un-painted because its a hatchback? I mean, the hatchback is pretty practical and if you're going to be sliding heavy/big things in and out of the boot, the plastic might get scratches. It would be better if any scratches ruin a black plastic instead of a 'prestigious' paint. Just an idea - but getting it painted will definitely make it look better. |

^^^Posted that in the wrong thread didn't I?
More relevant question; how you finding the head unit? Did it improve the sound quality even before the amp and sub was installed? Just asking because I need another reason for getting a touch screen 2 din, other than the obvious "it looks awesome"... |

the clarion head unit is a clarion max686BT and its awesome
when i got the unit i also got 4 speakers and 4 tweaters and the sub and two amps so i dont no what sound quality would be like without the extra speakers, but i no for sure that the head unit can run with stock speakers. the unit is a dvd/cd player with bluetooth inbuilt and an ipod integration so the whole ipod appears on the touch screen - quiet convenient. im getting the reverse camera installed tomorro so i will be able to show you better pics then. the head unit on its own wouldn't improve sound qaulity however. i would recommend you go all out and upgrade the speakers and get a sub and amp to achieve a much better sound. |

and so there are more updates....with pics to come later tonight
but in the meantime here is what is being done. im currently getting a reverse camera installed in the screen, and the ipod connection is being installed as well, where the hole ipod is displayed on the toiuch screen. i also thought, why not! im getting the HID kit installed as well with matching fog lamps. so tonight my lights will shine white! i will post pictures later tonight, im so excited! |

If you've HID lights, then you can't get angel eyes. Or at least you can't get them without paying extra for the special version of them. The HID globes burn too bright and discolour the plastic housing that the lights sit in. Pretty bright though!!
Looking forward to your pics :

Looked great as is, except for the dumb idea of the woofer and amp in the back, totally stuffed your practicality of the hatch, while you're at it lower it and put some harder riding rims on it to stuff the ride too...

Just saying it how I see it AnthonyTDCI... I did the same sort of things as a young bloke
tho I must admit. Maybe it could have been fitted to a craftwood parcel tray, designed to be removed for when you need the space this great little car can provide. |

not to worry, the 60/40 flat fold can fix that!
anyway, here are some pics as promised. sorry about the quantity as my camera died and its the wrong light to see the reverse camera, but iv taken some pics as best i could as you can see i have taken a few of the ipod interface which is a touchscreen and also the dvd quality. notice the rear number plate light has been replaced with LED's as well |

Looks the goods mate. Camera looks nice and snug, subtle as you like! The rear number plate LEDs are a great change too, little mods make all the difference!
Just gotta get rid of those ugly green interior lights ;) haha
