Transited through there on Sunday. Seems I'm the lucky one at the moment.
Just got out of the US in time for the whole Osama Bin Laden saga and now a tornado ripping through Auckland a couple of days after I was there too! I hope all our kiwi forums members are safe and sound!

We live in a dead end street, it went up the right of way next to our house, circled in the cul de sac and ripped out most of the trees and fences. The 10-15m tree I park my ute under is no more, just I well I took it to work today otherwise she would have met an early death. My flatmates VL shtbox is sitting next to a tree which looks like its about of go over, but we can't find the keys to it lol. Nothing major compared to other natural disasters this year.

Twisters exist in S/W WA where they're known as 'c*ck-eyed Bobs'.
A few years ago a mate was renting an old weatherboard farmhouse and one side of it was de-roofed and de-verandahed by one. Looked like a surgical cut - they're small but intense. |
