Well,
My order is in for an 06 Zetec. Yes, I only got my 05 LX last year, but due to insurance reasons, NOBODY, not even Just Car Insurance will let me do anything I want to my car. So, I thought, just get a car with standard 16" alloys, then you'll only be going up one inch when you put on 17"s. So, my panther black 06 Zetec with Chrome Grill, will be here in mid to late June. So, my audio system is being put on hold until it gets here. Should be awesome. |

What the?! This is all kind of sudden - right?
So, was the 05 model a WP or WQ? And, what problems are they giving you?

My insurance company (since it is mainly my work car), are tellin me flat out that I can't put 17"s on my Fez. Or pretty much do anything else to it. I've even tried Just Car Insurance, they actually told me during after the quote that they couldn't offer me insurance. I don't really know why, I have a clean driving record etc, I'm 25 and have held my licence for 8 years. Anyway, so the other day I was thinkin, "you should look into upgrading to the Zetec, more sporty lookin, a colour that you actually want, 17s, blah blah. It's worked out to cost me completely bugger all to upgrade. I've also had a free years worth of insurance worked into the deal, free mats, free scuff plates, other free stuff I can't recall now. So yeah, starting fresh. |

Sounds good. Get the leather gear knob too. I'm with AAMI, very cheap. Is the grille off the Ghia? Sounds like that one. More bits on that I'd like steering wheel, hand brake, stereo & grille.

Chrome grille would great look on black. You'll have to let us know how you find the different gearbox & suspension.

Yes in deedy that pic looks pure sex on wheels, Red calipers too will set it off nicely.
Im a bit confused about the insurance problem. I thought it was aslong as the rims/tyres where within legal spec insurance shouldnt have a problem. They shouldnt have problems with an increase of 2inch X 1 inch wide combo. I thought it was 2inch X 1 inch greater than the biggest rima available for the car. ie 16inch, so you could do 18's no probs

every single insurance company has different own policy. I'm with AAMI now, and they have no problem with my 17" and others. However, Allianz declined my policy bcoz of the wheels..

I'm with Just cars swaytan with 1 accident on record, 2 speeding fines, and lowered suspension. They are fine with it.
I dont know what the problem with you is. |

I recently changed to RACQ, they were the cheapest I found, Ok with both 17's, Stereo and lowering, and about 10 speeding fines in the last 10 years, + couple of accidents. People I talked to actually knew what I was talking about too.

Im with just cars and they rule. I added the stereo (a substantial insurance value) + my licence suspension onto my details and it was only $44 extra.
