Why did they persist with that old antiquated thing when they could have imported proper Falcons from Australia. Could have been a good export opportunity for Ford Oz.
I cannot believe that this was still selling in 1991. |

That was great seeing all the old Argentinean ads for the Falcon showing it as a versatile and sporty family sedan. You can really sense the enthusiasm from Ford, promoting their flagship sedan. Very cool.
Fast forward to Australia in 2013.....is Falcon the only flagship car model on earth that is not marketed at all? Is there a current TV ad? At least Foxtel isn't showing one. Are there even print ads? I'm looking at a G6ET purchase and have looked over a few and cannot believe that a handsome, economical, cheap to service, spacious, great handling, safe 12 second car is unknown to the general ppublic. It make me feel sick that more advertising dollars are spent on models which sell less. Mike

Argentinians will tell you the most frightening sight is a Green Falcon coming towards you,
the military used them to pick up people who then disappeared and never cam home again. Model they got when we went to XD Falcon: |

thanks for link. the engine assembly video shows what can be achieved if you want to run small production lines. the tooling was well worn and and you see the speed they are pressing panels. European fords sold well but the falcon was sold and advertised as old reliable for rural work. something ford hasn't done well here in OZ. I like the 4 round light look. and the square tail lights. it looks as if they pressed the quarter panels then modified to fit the light in. Ive watched these for years. a diesel version was advertised and a 4 cyl engine.

The wagon would've started to resemble this after awhile if they didn't get rid of it when the did.
