Default Im back!!!! he he he

Yes lady's & gents Im back in the Ford family. The Toyota has gone.
After taking a couple of years off to finish my superbike racing career, Im back & have just got my greasy little hands on a 6/2010 FG XR6T, & you know what the "T" stands for dont you? yes, no V8 this time. It an ex HWP car so its got all the gear, Brembo's, reversing sensors, F6 wheels, & only 59000Ks! & a host of small bits & bobs.
Drives like new! & looks like it too. So i'll be lurking around the huffer pages from time to time seeing who's who in the zoo.
Cheers sbutler

Thanks guys its nice to be back in a Ford.
I havent had a good look around the XR as yet. Its been ****ing rain since I picked it up, so I'll wait for a sunny day & go over it. Mrs sbutler gave it the once over at the car yard & gave it the thumb's up body wise.[She can spot a dodgie car from 100m]
The bits I have noticed Ive mentioned, but didnt know about the F6 cooler?
I cant believe how well it drives, I havent had a chance to give it a bit of stick yet, but I do know I was doing about 120kph in the rain last night, & booted it in D rof drag & the TC light came on!!
It dissapointing that Ford still fit the crap Dunlop sportmax tyres to their cars. I can tell you they havent improved since the T3/BAGT days, they are still crap, & as soon as they are worn out they are gonski!!
But it really is great to be back & enjoying motoring again.

But I am liking the turbo, its a different sort of power, but power all the same & the FG is a very very nice car.
My daughter & her fella, has a new SSV commondoor, 6lt, 6 speed. I think its a pretty nice car too & there isnt alot between them. They have their place, just not in my garage! Auto V auto I think it'd be a pretty close race. But I'd never tell him that.

JC:: Deb is going ok, but still have her bad days, but the stress the insurance co was putting her through has gone, & we are both pretty settled & happy now. Ive just sold the last superbike this weekend, so its time for us to enjoy some happy motoring, & not spend every weekend at a racetrack somewere.
We are now just resting up before our next adventure. Ive changed jobs, after 25 years so that exciting. She is setting up a business for her friend so we are both busy. But we are home a lot more now.
I won the 2011 championship, so today we are off to the presentation in Sydney, & the weather is looking lovely.

The FG turbo auto is at least a second quicker to 100 than an SS, so it would be a no contest.

Welcome back Steve - you need to change your avatar, unless you still have the T3. Would love to hear your review of the FG 6T vs a T3 (going from memory, I guess).

Well JC I know one thing, my T3 wouldnt have a chance against the turbo. Although I havent given it a good run, I can tell the turb,s would give it a back hander. But they aint apples to apples. So not much point trying to compair them. The T3 has won its place in performance car history.
The XR6T is just a common off the shelf car, but is making its mark.
Time has moved on & Ford has been very busy creating some of the best performance sedans in the world, & we are very spoilt here..
Would I have a T3 again? no. Why? because Ive had them & loved every Boss beating minute in them. But that was a long time ago, & we all move forward. We can to a compairo at some stage if you like?

PS:: I wont be changing my avitar pic anytime soon. But I have renamed it.

Welcome back old mate.

I look forward to the build thread on how to retrofit a 5.6 Windsor in an FG.

PS. I still see your old red TE around. Looks the same. Even has the Brembo stickers on it.
