If ford in Brittain is getting 101 cars then they are obviously making right hand drive models, you think ford Aus could get its hands on a limited number the way they did with the RS Capri 3100. I would definitely buy one even if i had to sell my capri and focus........... or get another loan on the house...........

In a nutshell, Not safely.

The RS and consiquently this RS500 have a different (presumably bigger) turbo, creating more boost. ECU edits like dreamscience and indeed custom tunes do a great job of getting more out of the XR5/ST turbo, it is already running close to it's maximum output.
To add to this, higher boost creates more extreme combustion temperatures (and compression obviously) which the stock block can't safely keep up with. There's guys running a lot of boost and creating a lot of power but there's no guarantee that it's not going to throw a leg out of bed.
In that article, it says they metal spray the bore. That's what this is for. Plus I've heard of guys on focusstoc.co.uk using cylinder sleeves to the same effect.

On top of that there's all the normal differences between the RS and the ST.

Plus it's a marketing thing, people don't care what it's actually like as long as it's exclusive.
Luckily for said people, this actually looks like a nice little package.

Same scenario as XR6T v F6.

Yes you can mod the 6T to be faster than the F6, but the F6 just has more presence... more "x" factor

A full wrap would probably be cheaper than a respray and if you get bored of it or if it goes out of fasion I'm pretty sure they come off without any damage.

Not such a silly idea.

You are prob right!

Just re-read that article and looked at the pics again, I am in love - that is almost enough to make me want to move to the UK!

I just cant understand why Ford would keep that for Europe only - its not as if it needs a conversion from the UK, surely enough would sell to make it worthwhile for them!
