Any down side in not replacing springs with new, when replacing struts with new struts?
Car is 12 years old, and i wan to get another 8 out of it. Also, does replacing springs add anything significant to the labour component of replacing struts?

Matey, the springs will be worn a little but, not necessary like BHDogs said but, if it were me doing so YES, I would change the springs. You should be able to pick up a set of springs (Lovells) front and rear for about $220.00 with no postage charge from Ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121030420...84.m1438.l2649

i have noticed on my own xr of the same age my springs have lost a tiny bit of height , but i still get over the speed humps ok, so i would go another vote for the negatory.
