Hey guys/gals, my first post...
At the risk of being flamed endlessly for the rest of my time on this forum... Does the rear wiper on the LZ hatch flip up to aid window washing and wiper blade replacement like nearly every other car I’ve seen in the past for both front and rear wipers? I’ve had the car for 2 months and have hand washed it a good few times, but each time I go to flip up the rear wiper, it lifts about 2 or 3 inches away from the glass and then hits some resistance like it doesn’t want to come out any further. I might be being too gentle with it, but just worried it’s not designed to flip all the way out and I’m going to break something. Any help appreciated. |

Have the same issue on my LW ST. I also thought it was weird.

Anyone? Just a short "yes it flips up" or "no it doesn't flip up" will do.

Thanks for that. Also confirmed this with Ford's service department yesterday. Unflippable by design!
Pretty poor design if you ask me, especially when the manual specifically warns against allowing the wiperless arm to contact the rear window glass when replacing wiper blades. Easy enough to stick something between the arm and the glass while swapping the blades over, but still... Form over function I suppose! |
