Default United phasing out P100 fuel

United have confirmed on Facebook this week that they are phasing out the P100 brew that many of us are running and have found good gains in over 98RON.
It will be replaced by a 98 blend with no ethanol content by the sounds of it. 'Great' news for many of us now needing a retune to go back to 98 and a power loss also...

Its a pain Dave. Shell did the exact same thing to us with the Vpower Racing 100 a few years back and i wore a retune then as well.
There was a solid 10rwkw+ in this P100 United brew over 98 and it was usually a little cheaper than 98RON also.

I wouldn't mind it I'd they replaced the pumps carrying P100 with E85, AFAIK they already have a 98 octane fuel too.

Get rid of the 98 instead i say. If we put a 100 octane in a 98 tune, it wont harm anything, but if you put 98 octane in a 100 tune, it will ping

I've read high octane on a low octane tune will run lean

Probably not enough buyers to justify the tank and the pump it occupies.

it's not the octane that causes change to the lambda reading it's the ethanol content

It confused me the other week when I noticed all the P100 stickers had been replaced with 98. I only go there for the E85 but I know a few people that swore by the P100. Bit of a shame. They're rolling out their race blend E85 in NSW at the moment so I guess that's a bit of good news to go with the bad.

What is the difference with the race blend E85/E85?
Cheers

From what I've been told, their existing E85 is an ethanol/95 mix, while the race blend is ethanol/98 (supposedly the same blend they supply to V8 supercars) which they claim is rated at 107 octane.

Why don't people when they get a tune, get a tune for a few different brews, that way you won't need a retune.

Would that normally cost extra to get extra tunes, that may otherwise be identical, but account for different fuels?

Not when I got mine tuned, I got the stock tune plus 91, 95 and 98 tunes but maybe the others might have been already logged base tunes but it beats having to go back and spend another 800 bucks.

Yep, I thought so too Adrenaline, get it all done at the same time that way if you just got a p100 tune your stuck with it. Might cost a few bucks more at the time but....

the car can only be tuned accurately based on what fuel is in the tank at the time

Hey mate im not in Sydney but i dont think anybody does a 100 now that United have stopped.
We may have to work out the ratios and splash some pump E85 in the tank and then some of United new 98 (that doesnt contain Ethanol) and make our own P100!

Easy if you DO need Premium 100 fuel: eg. for the fg falcons, use maximum 8ltrs of E85 to blend with 98 octane. Easy......

if mixing fuels, consider using a Zeitronix ethanol content gauge
