Hi all
I have recently got my hands on a 6 speed ba mkll xr6 turbo. It is mechanically stock but did come with an sct x3 flash tuner. I have plugged it in and uploaded the 11psi tune and run the factory settings but there is no difference and the boost gauge still only reads 4-5psi. The flash tuner says its married and the program was downloaded as far as I can tell I have done everything right. The x3 was purchased on eBay from bpr so I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Thanks |

Chances are there are a few tunes loaded. One is your stock tune which the x3 likely downloaded to itself as the first thing it did. Its possible thats why you aren't seeing any change.
Try loading the second or third tune. One might be valet (even lower PSI) and the other should be the 11PSI you are hoping for. Just give it a try and test run, you can't exactly stuff it up. ;)

We don't sell Flash tuners on Ebay as we see so many issues from customer that come in our door that have brought them off Ebay.
We are more than happy to help you with your issues, Just bring the car down and we can do some quick checks and see what's going on.

Hey all,
So I found a cut hose sticking up near the battery going nowhere followed it down and it went to the boost solenoid followed the hose out the bottom and it had been cut... Hmmm wtf your thinking .. Me too... It seems the previous owner had a manual boost controller in there and when it was taken out they joined the hose from front of turbo to the waste hate actuator... Which would explain why I was so disappointed in the xr6 turbo. I reconnected it properly and wow straight up over 11psi in 3rd tail sliding. Completely transformed the way it drives in every aspect... |

No problem
But I now have new problem too much boost... LOL Seems I have an over boost problem haven't had much time to sus it out but dropped back to 9psi tune gauge showing it goes over 10 when I really get into it.. So much fun don't have time to look at gauge till I heard the dredded noise. I think it's the injectors at their limit or fuel pump or combination of both... Gotta try take it easy on the loud pedal till I can sus it out |

That's a hell of a problem to have ;)
Look into putting the Typhoon secondary air intake on it. There are instructions in the How To section for cutting an airbox to suit. I was fortunate to find an entire kit for not much on eBay once. But you are right, its likely injectors/fuel pump unable to keep up.

Hey guys
I found the rubber from crank case side of front breather has a hole while I was installing new bov. I used electrical tape till I can get a new part from ford. Now getting no boost but idle is smoother... Hmmm got me puzzled not sure if the bov has anything to do with it or it's still leaking not sure will have to investigate further. Input on what you think is happening would be appreciated if anyone has any ideas? Thanks |
