Well.....
Not really interested in the sports aspect so didnt flick it in the Sports Bar. Question was more around how people feel about the evolution of expectations around public behaviour... If you wanna move it, no probs.

I say fair enough if his behaviour is impeding on the enjoyment of others at the event.
Pretty sure he would have been extremely loud and obnoxious to be targeted out of the whole crowd of football supporters, it's not like the stadium is a library so for him to stand out and be spoken to he would have acted up a fair bit. Everyone is a victim these days, what about the people around him wanting to enjoy the game without some idiot acting up.

That's what the footy is all about. people want to let their hair down, that's why they go I would think.
I know of an idiot mate down the road who is footy mad, he can not speak the day after, he forks out a lot for his own chair and all. even asked me if I wanted to go once, but Watching footy does not interest me at all. I liked playing footy when I was a school kid and would rather watch young kids that I know down the local any day over the big stuff. I was talking about the old days footy in how it was so much a better atmosphere and the fighting made it all more the worthwhile and made for good conversation and a laugh the next day. |

If there any WAFL Swan Districts supporters here they would know about a regular follower who is extremely loud and also appears to have a disability. He sits in one of the old grandstands and he is so painfully loud I always have to move the other stand. Nonetheless, I recognise his right to barrack as loud as he likes and my right to change seats. I would likely have a different view if I had paid for allocated seats and I couldn't escape from him.

Any league followers remember Laurie Nichols? Blokes like him would probably be frogmarched out now.

The AFL denying any knowledge of all this is absolute crap seeing as they’re the ones who own Marvel Stadium! They’re trying their hardest to get rid of booing and now they’re moving on to their next targets.
They’d do well to look at what happened to the A League when they ****ed their fans off. Fans stopped going and the game is yet to recover. |

It’s getting messier; now Kennett - for all his polarising outlook - has opened up and tipped a bucket on the security people. Not a fan of Kennett but I readily acknowledge his forthrightness and consistency.
McLachlan has been forced to admit what they (the AFL hierarchy) were attempting to snow or deny previously - that the decisions to intervene more vigorously with patrons are in fact a spin off from AFL determinations, not simply an autonomous decision of the people who manage a sports venue. But yes, as per the previous post, I believe the whole shebang is just going to turn people away. |

It would have been 110% perfect if a fan had jumped the fence to pull him back.

The sooner AFL and Rugby self destructs under the weight of their own PC idiocy, the sooner another social justice free competition can flourish...
