We are in Townsvile, ,

For all residents from Cairns to Mackay, there is about a 1 in 16 Chance of it hitting us !. If a cyclone is Typically 50km wide, and it has a target range of 800Km, , who knows....

We are lucky, in a low concrete block house, in surburbia, with no BIG trees right next to the house.

Very rarely does a cyclone come to the coast and then track north, so I am guessing Ingham - Cardwell, which is about 150km north of us !

hahaha, since when me and my family left 4 years ago, FNQ hasnt had any cyclones hit, I'm back for 1 month, and there's a cyclone! How amazing is that! Spooky huh! I also tipped 7/7 for the NRL this week, and tipped the Broncos to win by 4 in the margain game, i might win a prize! Things are spooky :lookedat:

So its your fault. I just returned to Melb after my 2 week go working up there, changed over with another guy who is not looking forward to dodging a cyclone

An Australian Katrina!

I read about the cyclone on another forum and we were all wondering who decided to name the city "Townsville."

But seriously... good luck guys!

This is gonna suck big time, i'm in Cairns, we have 2 cars and only 1 carport. luckily my car is under it :P

This will be the first cyclone i've ben in, they said there will be surges 2 metres above normal high-tide level, and my house is 2 metres above normal sea level! i spent this afternoon moving all my friends stuff upstairs with him cause his house is only 1 metre above sea level we think.

Hopefully it won't be that bad

Sunrise has been showing pics and relaying what people up that way have been saying to family and friends elsewhere..

One resident said she had lived through Tracy and this is not quite as bad, where others have reported it as absolutely terrifying.
