Hardware shops usually have it, home hardware has it here in sheets plus angles etc.

there is capral aluminium or aluminium specialists or you can go to any scrap yard that buys ally they also sell it in small pieces also or sheets though your better off buying a 2400 x 1200 sheet cheaper that way

Thanks Doc, I didn't think hardware stores would stock it. Don't suppose you know roughly how much a square metre it is?

HAHA! Coke cans are free, if you're willing to look like a hobo digging them out the trash. Ice tray idea won't work for me, mines a frost free.LOL

depends on the thickness you want 3 mm ally mill finish should be about 80 to 100 dollars 2400 x 1200 sheet or there is anodised silver which would cost a bit more looks good too. i can get a better pricing in the morning for you my brother works at a scrap metal yard and he can give me the price later this morning

Thanks mate, that gives me an idea of price at least. Don't worry too much about asking your brother. The anodised silver sound good but. I was thinking 2mm might be okay.

Do you have Smorgans , Onesteel , MI Steel down there ? . In NSW these are the places I'd try . Otherwise try the Yellow Pages or our old friend Google

Norm

EDIT :- Sorry f6 , was typing when you posted

Where in vic are you?
Bunnings sell some ally but usually not cheap.
In East suburbs there are plenty of ally shops around. I have bought plenty over the past couple years.

I'm in Caroline Springs (western suburbs), I might take a trip to Bunnings. There is a Smorgan's but they will be closed on the weekend.

Try capral aluminium they have a few shops around, or look up in yellow pages there is bound to be more, think when I was looking there was more your side of town than mine.
