Yes as far as I am concerned Victoria is becoming the Nanny state of the world! How far are things going to be taken?
If my 2 and half yr old daughter was to go down with her kite to the park she could get fined $200. "What The?" Check it out HERE

A kid controlling a kite with both their hands doesn't have a hand to do drugs, drink, graffiti, damage property or engage in other anti-social behaviour.

...can you imagine, some young girl and her dad are down the park flying a kite, and some 'kite inspector' comes along and tries to fine the young girl? And daddy doesn't know about the law? That inspectors face would resemble a pound of mince. This law, much like that other one in Adelaide, is STUPID.

I just clicked the link and there is an update on it. They are re-thinking the ban after public outcry...and so they should!
How do these things even get passed?

I wonder when they will introduce a decent law whereas workers wearing bright yellow vests are prohibited to lean against shovels for extended periods in public locations during the hours of 7am-4pm? Pfft, I think there would be more chance of me scoring a night with our Jennifer Hawkins!

There was a story on silly councils on ACA tonight. One of them in NSW only does bin collection every fortnight, any more and you pay extra. Another one wanted residents to pay for the length of concrete footpath they have outside the length of their property.
The councils and authorities have gone mad, everything that can be done these days requires some sort of permit, payment, license. It's beyond a joke, something gotta give sooner or later. |

The fortnightly bin collection area would be Penrith. The residents out here are not happy. I myself have been to the council chambers 3 times to complain. They just tell me to deal with it. Its a joke. |

Oh my gosh, I'm shocked to say the least :|
I've always seen kids - family's etc at open space parks, where they fly any tihng ... Most have common sence & either have a fav place ( local park ) to fly or go for a drive to find a safe place beach etc etc I'm like wtf & I did click on the link Gr8xr6 & it's getting beyond pathetic with how sad this is all becoming to making an extra buck :| Is safety really the issue here ? I'm thinking it's last on the agenda ! It started with taking pic's of kids & now it's them flying a kite ... !!! What a joke this is, I will have to tell my son, he will be like are you for real mum ? And I'm buying a model plane & I will be flying it at a safe place where there is a huge block of land in between an industrial area just near the hooby shop ... I must remember to ask them, if they have heard of this rubbish ... These b/s laws are riddiculous to say the least ! Did you hear about the new law of breath testing pedestrians ??? |

They'll catch me at some point.
If the council only collected bins once a fortnight where I live, I'd dump the rubbish at council chambers with a note: bins filled up. Then the council can deal with it. Can anyone tell I've had problems with councils before??
