Default JAG XJ6 Using Ford 351

Here is a Jaguar XJ6 running a 351 Cleveland. Has also got EL GT scoop and EL GT vents. Bit different to all the Chevy powered jags.

Read the questions.
Very interesting.

My mate is a jag mechanic and he has seen a few with clevos in them not as many as chevs 350's or holden 308's though. It's about $5000 to rebuild the jag 6 so no wonder some people put something else in there. You should see some of the looks he gets when he tells people how much it will cost. Usually these people buy a jag xj6 for 6 to 10 grand and think they are rich because they drive a jag . Then when they find out how much it is to fix it they are not so rich and sell them. I mean just to replace the rear shocks is around $2000.
What is the go with these morons who make smart ar$e comments on ebay. Dont they have anything better to do I mean build a chev with brodex heads. Yeah and then sell it on ebay for $7000 yeah right and loose how much money. I dont even know why the guy even put that question on there I suppose he got him with his reply.

For a comparison, repairing a 300zx costs a lot of money. The perception that "I paid $17,000 for this, so it should be cheap to fix" dissapears really quickly when your paying for repairs on an $80,000 car brand new. This is why grey imports will eventually melt into puddles of delightfully overenginered goo.

Its the same with the jag, obviously. Just because it was cheap to buy doesn't mean its cheap to own.

My Dad has an XJ6 II as a run-about and a 420G club car.

I dropped a 350 into a XJ for the same reason (money). The problem is that the Jag engine redline is a lot higher than a 350, and the only diff to give good economy is to swap to the vary rare E-type V12. Otherwise it was thirsty but quick.
