Can well imagine the XR's being good sellers. Very nice looking car.
And they have targetted the XR6 in a lot of advertising over the last couple of months with pictures of the front and a price that makes it hard to resist. Which reflects in its share of FG's sold. You also see a lot of FG's on the road these days. So they must be selling well. |

The Mrs loves them and now even loves the G6E, which she initially hated because of the loud front grille. Of course I loved it right off the bat! LOL! GK

Awesome news for Ford! Even more awesome (as has been said before) is that it's the higher margin models that are doing the selling.
It's been said by others before but I'm going to say it as well - I love the way Burella gets a dig in at the competition in nearly everything you see his name in. |

Good news indeed in a time where unemployment is climbing again. Perhaps this is the right time to point out to all the brand snobs who feel Mercs,BMWs, Audis etc are the only decent cars worth buying - look closer to home, support the local product (which is just as good) and keep someone in a job in the process.

All the more reason why I reckon they need a 'fully loaded' model to sit above the G6ET with unique front and rear styling...win over some of those brand snobs that 'won't stoop so low' as to buy a Falcon...

Thats good news but isnt it a bit worrying as many might not want to put up with the wait for a new car and just switch brands?

I am too young to remember but was the VL Turbo as popular as the current turbo falcon when it was on sale in the late 8o's?
And 20 years from now, will we be laughing at p platers driving G6ET's with 22in wheels on the front and stockies on the back? |

This news confirms what we were saying a long time ago; Ford have a plan, and it's a bloody good one. The good news is, this is only the tip of the iceburg.
I still think they should drop that ugly XT, or make it look a bit less boring.

Sounds like the NSW's Police are after their XR's also. An XR6T with FPV Brembo's, nice!

Also, being a 'fleet queen' also means theres no value in them. Why would anyone want to spend their own money on a car thats going to be worth nothing in 12 months time when government departments start selling off their cars?

This is good news. Looks like Ford is moving away from the low margin fleet cars and into high end private cars. That will improve there image.

I drive for a living and have noticed in the last few months a massive increase of FG's on the road. Especially the G6E Turbo with as you can by my sig I am already a fan of...
Great car! It should be selling well.

Even though I prefer the styling of the less curved/contoured BA/BF, the FG's presence on the road is immensely big now. Mostly seeing G6E's and G6ET's. Still can't get enough of the XR's in Octane though
Stoked for Ford. Here's to more good news. |

They keep talking about the G6E Turbo being the only turbo with a 3 month waiting list.. Is the xr6 Turbo on the same waiting list?
I'm planning to buy a new xr6 Turbo during Dec/ Jan sales.. Just want to know if I shouldn't get too excited about driving a new car in Dec/ Jan if it won’t get delivered until Mar/ Apr next year. Also interesting to read, best private sales since Nov 2005 (A month they sold 5K +).. Very good news.. |
