Default Jet Dragsters Set Willowbank Alight

Drag Racing fans were sent into a fuel charged frenzy when they witnessed Australia's biggest ever jet dragster gathering at Willowbank
Raceway this evening.

Never before in Australian drag racing history had four jet powered dragsters assembled in competition. The bragging rights in the International showdown between Western Australian Gary Miocevich and American Chuck Hayes went the way of Hayes as he claimed victory in the
final flame-throwing pass.

Haynes, hailing from Billings, Montana, set the track alight piloting his Volcano Pratt and Whitney J60 powered dragster to an impressive 5.19
second pass at 291.08 mph in the final showdown.

"I've had a great time here at Willowbank Raceway, the fans have been great and I'm happy that we were able to put on an exciting show for
them tonight," said Haynes.

"I got a little distracted during my final run and should have given the fans an extra treat by running over 300mph but hopefully I will be able
to achieve that goal next time I'm here.

"I look forward to coming back to Willowbank Raceway and putting on
another great show in the future."

Lining up alongside the International pair was Gold Coast drivers Matt Brock and Steve Mirams in the National Jet Dragster Showdown as a part
of the historic occasion.

In conjunction with the Jet Dragster showdown was a full card of support categories headed by the Carpenter Ford Supercharged Outlaws where Nathan Pullen defeated Rockhampton driver Russell Mackay in the final
with a 6.675 second pass at 202.07 mph.

The Lifestyle Carpets & Vinyl SuperComp bracket was taken out by Louis
Galea aboard his Camaro.

In the two wheel categories Ross Lemberg proved too good in the Morgan and Wacker Comp Bike division to claim the win. Marty Searl took the win ahead of Tammy Goldthorpe in the Muzzys Pro Kawasaki Modified Bike category. Chris Wacker won the Morgan & Wacker Screamin' Eagle Harleys
bracket with a 10.662 second pass across the quarter mile.

Other victories throughout the evening went to Phil Bellert in the Baileys Brake & Clutch Modified category, Noel Green in the Ultimate Financial Group Super Sedan and Terri Sander won Torques Cheap
Performance & Wholesale Cars Super Street.

Twelve year-old Zane Radford showed his opposition a clean pair of heels in the Queensland Diesel Spares Junior Dragster division taking the
victory ahead of Joshua Price.

The next major event to be contested at Willowbank Raceway is the QT Tin Top Titles on April 8 where the fast and furious action will be
headlined by the Top Doorslammer category.
