How much power can the standard AU I6 block take before it decides to give up. Im looking at a full engine rebuild + the usual N/A internal work (minus stroke/forge) and was wondering how many ponies can I be looking at with the standard block. Also looking at a supercharger setup running low boost (8-11psi) so what could I safely expect from my I6 block?
(Also any threads already related to this question would be appreciated, couldnt find anything in my searches) Cheers guys. |

There is a turbo'd EL over here making well over 600rwhp with an AU 4 litre block, so I'd say you'll be pretty safe.

300rwkw would be on the limit for the stock rods IMO.
Change the rods and it's all good for lots more.

The block will be fine your potential application Zak. The standard rods should handle the psi you quoted up to a certain point too. It will boil down to your tuner and how good he is.
But essentially, you block should be good to go without major drama's.
