Default Yet another tyre question

Does someone know if a 215/50/R17 tyre fit on MP3 wheels on the LR? Has some one tried it?

I know theres not much choice in that config. My 45s were fine on smooth melbourne roads. But up here on the rougher roads of brissy they seem to take a lotta pounding and lots and lots of tyre roar too.

But its good fun driving here though coz the twisty roads seem like they are made for a focus.

They would but would put your speedo out. So you might need it re-calibrated

I have 215/45/17 that replaced the 205(i think)/50/17(going the other way to you). Theres next to no difference to the speedo the extra 5mm diameter gives, probably out by 2kmh or so max. Ride quality is the slightest bit worse. The brand of the tyre would make more of a difference with noise.

which of the 17 inch tyre sizes that fit the LS Zetec gives the most options and/price?

205/50
215/50
215/45
225/45
225/40
??

I've no idea, but have read on here about the limited number of 205/50's on the market, with the correct load rating, and how expensive they are etc...

I'd look at 215/45R17 for options/price, I can do Cheapies for about $130 or Good stuff around $280, plenty of options in between, a few over that.

i run 205/45/R17 on my Mp3's.. there is a great range out there for themm....mind you they are like low profile... hahaha....

i got falkens on there atm... but they squeel like a pig in pig pen when going around the simplest of corneres and in the wet i may as well have slicks on...

will be getting wither Toyo T1-R's next or Pirelli's. prob Toyo's.

I got Falkens when the front OEM tyres were due. I hated them. Threw them onto the back and got Firenzas on the front. Now have Maxxis MA-Z1 to replace the Firenza and they are 20 times better then Falkens

Not a bad price as well for the Maxxis, $165 each, I paid I think 180 for the Falkens.

Wheels Tyre Test

Awesome in the wet, often in the top 2, about middle range in the dry. (remember this is in the field of performance tyres twice its price)
