Default Another Hit And Run

TOday i was parked outside my Mechanics and heard a bang > as i came outside i saw a Hiace flying up the road. AFTer trying to look for numberplates on the car i realised that there were none. As i got to my car the tyre and rim were damaged so was unable to take off after guy . This is the same thing that has happened to my cars in the last 4 weeks. . The worst of it is that the car was painted on saturday and now its gotta go back to have guard that was just replaced fixed agian. As well as that now i have to get a new rim ..

I live in the south east melbourne.

Has anyone else had problems like this.

I believe that there are alot of these happening these days however alot of people that see these things often walk away and do nothing

man that really sucks. i had someone reverse into our eb wagon a few years ago...no-one saw anything ofcourse, cost us $500 to fix (or pay$550 in insurance excess : ).

actually saw a woman in an au reverse into a camry the other day. her towbar made pretty good contact with the toyota's front bar twice...only that stopped me from leaving a note was the fact the camry was parked a good foot and a half over his lines. the lady would've had plenty of room otherwise, so i figured it was karma.

That sux mate.

Ive had the same experience before, but the driver was decent enough(for a young fella) to come inside my mates factory and own up to it.

Another mate had his adventurer writen off after a druck tradey run up the ar5e of it while it was parked outside a factory, this bloke decided to put it in revese and try and take off, but all the boys were right out the front and saw everything.

The van driver took off up the road in his buggered van with 3 cars chasing him including the owner, and they got him around the corner, took his keys and called the cops.

The guy was drunk as a skunk, blew .25, and was a repeat drunk driver with a cancelled licence so he got the book thrown at him.

Yeh not good. That is why our annual insurance premiums are so high these days, and another reason why these scum don't have insurance at all.

You are right, there is a lot more of it happening these days, I was walking along Sydney Road Brunswick Sunday night a fortnight ago and I saw a woman in something like a small Suzuki trying to get out of a parallel park. She clearly reversed into the car behind her and then proceeded to step on the gas in reverse a little more to make sure she had enough room to manoeuvre forward out of her space. You could see both Bumpers bowing under the pressure although little damage was really done.

Her car was a reasonably newer model and the other parked car was a late 90,s Corolla. If she showed no respect to her own car, how could you possibly expect her to show any respect to anyone else's.

Well the xf seems to be getting itself always into trouble and im glad hit the brock it means that i can get it repainted. As for insurance they will not cover the car when it is parked. So looks like its out of my pocket

This didnt happen to my car, but I saw it happen.
Was parked at Frankston Hospital and was walking back to my car. Heard a mum yelling at her kid to get out of the car, as he did he hit the car parked next to it.
The mum walked around, had a look at the car and they walked away.
I gave her a bit of a glare and asked if she was going to leave a note or something and her reply was 'its only a small dent, it doesnt matter'
I pointed out if that was her car she would be out to kill someone for it and she just walked off.
I wrote a note leaving my details and the rego, etc of the offending car. Havent heard anything though.

we were at maccas in Geraldton WA and we watched as this young woman reversed out of the carpark and completely swipe the whole side of the car parked to the left of her. She basically ran the front left hand corner of her car down the whole right hand side of the vehicle on her left leaving no panel undamaged.

She drove off in a hurry but unlucky for her we took down the details and waited for the driver to finish his lunch and informed him of what occured to his vehicle while he was eating. It was a brand new car only just picked up from the showroom floor a few minutes before and he was grabbing some lunch. He was grateful to say the least!!

On the flipside, my friend accidentally hit someone in a car park and left a note with his insurance and contact details. He received one of the most abusive phone calls you can imagine from the lady whos car he hit and he was left wondering why he bothered. He could have walked away and gotten away with it yet this lady seemed incapable of being grateful that he had done the honourable thing.

I feel your pain.
Had it happen to me twice in a week earlier this year.

Just gotta fork out the dollars and get repaired, not much more you can do.

Or dwell on it, get no where and think of what you'd like to do...

omg how rude, what are people thinking these days...

I remember seeing this incident when i was out with some friends on hindly st in adelaides cbd, there was this white mitsubishi lancer coupe seriously trying to park between two cars, i dont really know what gave him the idea he would fit because there was no way he could get in and out without a scratch. Anyways he reversed in and hit the other cars front end, then he went forward and hit the other cars back end and this kept going for a few minutes, he basically crumpled his car and then realised what he did was wrong and made his way out and took off leaving some serious dents to the two cars...i wrote down his rego details and placed them on both cars windscreens.
What a idiot.
