Default finally some rest..

the year is over, 6 more days till closing time.
a well deserved rest.

so how are the rest of ford forums holding up??

when is your shut down, if any??
do you feel burnt out?

you know you've got the break, but you also know you will get itchy feet..
nothing to do, cant wait for work to return!!

I took from the 15th till the 12th off. I'm going up to Townsville on Sunday to visit a mate for a week. I might get down the south coast for NYE.

I get about a week of that free with shutdown (half day 24th -2nd). Best time to add on some annual leave with it and it's not particularly hard to get approved this time of year.

I usually find it hard to sleep in (usually up about 6-630am) but it has been pretty damn easy so far. Been a very long year! I already forgot what work is

Off from the 24th to 4th, short break as this how I prefer it.
Holidays later in the year when most are still working, I like my holidays up north.

Cheers.

Super busy year for me this year, been away from home with work 9 months all up this year. I am on leave for 3 weeks but on call for the period over christmas. In March next year i get two months off to get married and have a decent holiday. Gotta use up some of those 60 days leave i currently have.

It's been a roller coaster year for me. Some good parts, some not so good. Heading to Perth over xmas/New Years to see friends so looking forward to taking a well earned break.

Looking forward to starting the new year off on a positive foot.

We don't shut down, only public holidays off.

I'm taking some leave end of march, supposedly house will be finished so we are gonna have a break then.

Currently have 56 days leave accrued, so need to use it soon. Or get the boss to pay it out and go shopping lol

Didn't work for the first six months of the year, so happy to be working through and take advantage of the penalty rates. I am even working Christmas day, the garbage needs to be picked up. So don't forget to leave out some p1ss for the garbo.

I cannot wait for it to end! whilst I love my job I need a break and today couldnt have come any quicker! Its been a tough year, only had a week off throughout it and I am just mentally drained. Time to switch off, tinker with the car and get some much needed rest!

2 weeks off!

Maybe quiet roads and a fang is in order? Just watch for the plod because it will be double points?

Yeap busy year for us. Ive got from the 20/12 to the 17/01 off and spending all of it in Tassie. Got a baby due on the 11/01 so its not going to be quiet.

In laws have a bit of land so I spend my time working in the morning, chopping trees, general house stuff..have lunch for 3-4 hours...maybe play tennis then swim.

Hard life...but enjoying it while the option is there.

Shutdown is 23rd to the 8th, I've gotta cover for 24th to the 2nd excluding public holidays so 5 days off in lieu. So no real break however I do save two hours a day in travel.

Not too often just for in home service, or a car is parked in front of bins. And if we knock a bin over, we have to get out and pick it up. Great job and best of all no part of the job comes home with me.

I'm supposed to be working all over Christmas since we never shut down for holidays, but I had 2 weeks annual leave at the end of November and then lucky me (sort of) I have all of December off as sick leave and return to work on the 1/1/15.
Then on the 20th Jan I start my annual leave for 2 weeks. Haven't had this much time off in such a short period ever. 8 Weeks off in 3 months. Wish I could do this all the time.

I'll be on call until 7am on Christmas day, but then I don't have to work until the 29th. It's a bit sad that I'm actually excited to have 'so much' time off. Too many people taking leave means I get to work all the time. Good way to raise the funds for when I finally get some time off.
Merry Christmas everyone!

I’m retired but I swear the years feel busier than ever.

Christmas will be with the family and Boxing Day with friends.

I haven’t even considered what’s happening for New Year.

As our time is our own we’ll take a short holiday in February after the holiday rush period starts to die down.

Merry Christmas to everyone and special thoughts for those who won’t have the opportunity to spend it with family and friends.
