They also mentioned how it's built in Korea by Daewoo, Which I'm quiet sure most of the people driving them think Because it's "Euro" styling is built somewhere other than Korea.

Now Holden gets some negative press after that Ford Exploder cruse control incident. Now I've got a comeback when my Holden supporters go "neh neh, Fords have crappy cruse control".

is it too late to show him this and he can excercise his right to the "cooling off" period? perhaps an article like this will prove that A) its a crap car and B) he will only be worse off for buying it.

If I never saw the program I would not have thought that the Craptiva never had any problems, Holden must be good at keeping it under the covers.
Off topic but how does anyone compare a Craptiva with a Territory, just not in the same league.

Today Tonight and A Current Affair are both crap shows. Gutter Journalism.
They rely on sensationalism and catchy headlines to keep you watching (notice they always have a new "easy way to loose weight" headline!).

I'm not sticking up for the Captiva (couldn't care less about it / just highlighting hypocrisy!) but if this was a Territory, I'm sure you would all be bagging the show, the media are Ford bashers, those owners sound like whingers etc etc

I do agree with the show saying that the "Lemon Law" should be introduced here.

Don't tell anyone.. but I actually work as a holden tech. And to tell you the truth, we haven't had many troubles with the captivas at all. From my experience, they've been one of the better cars of the holden fleet, even if they are daewoos. Sure you get a few shocker cars here and there, but show me a line of car that hasn't.

Not trying to defend captivas or anything, but if you base your opinions on anything from what you see on current affair/today tonight...... :

As soon as I heard "Captiva" was the name of the car upon release - I called it a Craptiva and have ever since. My sister bought one - so I've held my tongue in her presence because she only recently paid about $30k for a 2nd hand one. I don't think she's had any issues so far. I suppose it is one of the cheaper 7 seater SUVs - she has 2 boys and her partner has 2 boys, so they need 6 seats minimum.

Seems the media lately is hellbent on destroying the aussie car industry, as if it needs any help :togo: The Ford exploder, and now the Craptiva, not to mention the COUNTLESS articles depicting ford, holden and toyota cars in a bad (unfair) light. With f**knut journo's like this in Australia, won't be very long till we are all driving imported cars.

Lemons aren't specific to any one brand, it can happen, I think Holden's response is what counts in these circumstances. Looking at the reply on todaytonights website it seems they are going to good lengths to fix it. Todaytonight is always bias, I wouldn't believe half of what was said on that stupid show.

Saying that, I still wouldn't drive a Craptiva

What has a Korean Holden and an American Ford got to do with the Local Car industry?

If it was a Camry/Aurion, Falcon/Territory, or a Commodore you could say something, but it isn't. Don't forget that if Ford or Holden pulled up stumps here, they'd do a Mitsubishi, and remain as a full time importer. That being said, Ford Australia is still the Falcon motor company.

ahh yeah fair enough, just seems the media loves to jump on the band wagon is all, im sure the explorer and craptiva on the news will sway a few people to avoiding ford and holden all together though.

I wouldn't say that.

Ford don't import the Exploder any more, especially with Territory. Holden's Craptiva on the other hand...

Development wise yes, but sales split is probably going to continue a slow move towards a fairer distribution. For example, fiesta salesa were 40% as much as falcon sales last month...didn't think i'd ever see the day that happened....
