You'd probably be better of just buying them chrome, they are out there.

Rex Gorrel Ford Spare Parts inform me that new chrome buttons are NLA. I would rather have mine done by a plastic chrome plater than buy daggy used ones on eBay. So if anyone knows of any brand new ones, please let me know.
Thanks. Cheers 2001 AUII Falcon XR6 HP Liquid Silver |

There are a few around but I would suggest that if you do get it done, get a few people together and have a bulk lot done. It can be quite dear when you get small bits done as they need a minimum amount to do a dip.

Hi I got shifter button cromed plated by a place in bendigo, they
did a good job. There's all so a place in SA that advertise in ford performance mag, I've sent other stuff to be done there, I think they do a better quality finish. |

I have posted both my auto shifter and hand brake buttons to be chrome plated by A Class Metal Finishers in Adelaide. I have also requested the "Standard of Finish" required being "A Class (Best/Show Job). Upon receipt of the plated buttons I'll inform the Forum of the results. I'm totally crazy about the little things now that most of the big things have been done !!! &

Hey AlfaRomeoGTV6, if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to get those two things done? If it's cheap, it might be a good way to bling up the interior without costing too much..

G'day Brad Thanks for that tip mate. I didn't think you were having a go at all I didn't want to use a plater in Geelong because a mate who restores classic motorcycles has unfortunately never had a good thing to say about local platers. So I relied upon xr 27's recommendation. And everything turned out perfect. Cheers Brad

$66.00 including postage. Not at all cheap IMHO. I don't have all that much coin to spend at the moment, so thankfully the job was perfectly done the first time around. The biggest headache I had doing this little job was obtaining the buttons without having to buy the entire transmission selector and handbrake lever assemblies. The only wreckers in Geelong who would sell me the buttons alone was Macwreck. Cheers GK
