I knew this was going to happen eventually.
The denials only bought time. This is far more serious than people realize.

yeah your right. It doesnt help when the mainstream media have been told not to report anything new from there. I think the powers that be want us to live with our eyes closed when it comes to disasters like this.
Some people do not realize the implications of the ongoing damage this will to the sea, and wildlife in general in that area.

This is what I find even more concerning than the loss of containment of the radioactive cooling water: The reactor cores are still stupid kinds of hot and getting hotter. Two years of cooling has done diddly squat. |

"The Pacific Ocean is an enormous place," said Norman, who found radiation from the Fukushima nuclear power in California rainwater, milk and plants soon after the earthquake and tsunami
^^ Thats a tad scary.

I can think of a disaster that has taken over 25,000,000+ lives this year and counting, and the MSM will hardly touch the issue, let alone report it as the disaster it is. Most of the world has their eyes closed to the issue I'm thinking of. If I told you what it was, I'd be instantly branded an idiot, bigot, etc, etc and this thread would be instantly closed. It's the state of the world I'm afraid. GK

According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death

Can someone advise how many people have died directly as a result of exposure from Fukushima's radiation issues? Please quote the source of the information too.

From what I've read one doesn't die straight away from radiation exposure, the effects get you years down the track. Problem is no one can directly link it to the exposure. Take Chernobyl, some say upwards of 250,000 have dies as a result, others say as few as 5. Depends who you believe I guess...

the super dangerous radioactivity that occurs from these sorts of events and compounds, known as high level radiation, has a half life often measured in days up to weeks, an in effect decayed to harmless in a matter of months, when mixed with the sheer quantity of volume of the ocean the dispersal reduces its harm. however the low level radiation, whose half life measures in the milleniums+ doesnt have the as dramatic effect of the high level stuff butthe volumes of the material is far greater....However I wouldnt want to be anywhere near it for a good 100+ generations.
It's interesting reaing about Hiroshima after the nuclear bomb. of course those killed instantly by the blast and debris added to the casualty list but those who died within months as a result of the high level radiation. but the deformities and cancers etc that occured for decades later as a result of the low level radiation that are really telling as to the real effect of the nuclear materials JP. |

Nuclear Engineer Arnie Gundersen has covered Fukushima extensively since the accident and you will find a mountain of information here:

this is turning out to be a complete out of control mess. Its only a matter of time before it affects the rest of the planet.

We need to pack up all the radioactive junk on the planet and spear it into the sun.
Seriously, I hope someone can come up with a solution before it causes anymore damage. Not sure if I feel OK eating fish anymore..

The much talked about Three Mile Island accident? Not one person even injured. Nuclear power is safe, and has harmed a miniscule number of people compared to coal mining. Good point (and about time) someone mentioned the truth about high level and low level virtually harmless radioactivity too. Too much fear around. Do people know that living near a coal fired station will actually expose you to more radiation than living near a nuclear power station? Not many people know that one. |

Alarming levels of contamination have been detected in and on used and brand new Mazda's, Honda's, Toyota's, etc. Contamination comes from many places - general fallout either in holding yards, at the docks or at sea, contaminated assembly line workers, and/or contaminated components from 3rd party suppliers, which are then used in the cars. The problem is, only Russia is screening for this properly, due to their awareness from their own nuclear disaster. http://rt.com/news/radioactive-japan...an-border-624/ http://www.blindbatnews.com/2011/12/...ecting-us/9274 http://nuke6.blogspot.com.au/2012/01...car-parts.html http://nuclear-news.net/2013/08/02/n...ia-from-japan/ http://en.rian.ru/business/20130801/182537097.html http://blogs.wsj.com/japanrealtime/2...contamination/ And you can guess what we do in this country....... yep, nothing. Zip, Zilch, no testing whatsoever.
