Default Automotive Spook Stories

We've all heard of the proverbial 'Haunted House'.. but since cars have been around for so long, has anybody heard of or experienced a 'Haunted Car'?

My car seems to hate other people, much like Christine did in Steven King's book. It does strange things only when I have passengers and never likes other people driving it. Does that count? lol

...I was gonna make a joke about ectoplasm... but no, this is not the place.
I truly believe the car was haunted, it hated me.

Well I dunno about haunted, but I do believe in good luck cars and bad luck cars
Obviously the world's most famous bad luck car would have to be James Dean's Porsche 'Little Bastard'

back in 92 my girlfriend and I saw someone sitting in my friends yellow XBGT coupe as he drove past us while we were waiting for him. The "guy" was staring straight at us and had long bushy hair.
He met up with us 5 minutes later and was adamant there was noone in the car with him.
Im not one to believe iin this kind of stuff and if my lady friend didnt see it as well I would have probably would have passed it off as me seeing things.

A few weeks later after talking to some other guys about it they mentioned a guy had committed suicide in a yellow XBGT coupe some years before neaar kings road at parafield here in SA. Coincidence ? ....probably

i went and met my dad at maccas in my AU once, had a chat etc, left and went to work, got a call from my girlfriend going off her brain and broke us up saying someone swore black and blue that there was a girl in my passenger seat, they described what she looked like and everything, 7 weeks ago it happened again but it was in my BA, but this time my old school mate saw a girl in my car twice, described the "girl" to be the exact same as the first time, mmm another break up over some mystery girl. Maybe its not the car but a deceased family member following me??, i think its my sister but mehh, ill keep copping the blame as long as they keep me safe

Up in the adelaide hills, we were in a Telstar that the girl who was with us took it home from work for the weekend as she worked in a caryard. We were all pretty smashed including the driver(I know but we were dumb and young) we get to a spot in the hills near a fence off a dirt road, the car completely dies, no power no engine, no lights-nothing!
a few minutes later the car lights come on and there is a massive black goat staring at us about a metre away from the car. The girls start screaming saying its a sign from the devil to get out of here, the driver fired up the car, it started and we floored it away from there, freaky experience, still remeber it clearly to this day!\

What happens to a car that has been involved in a tragic incident that involved loss of life. Do they end up at the Auctions and then at the salvage yard down the road?

My father used to have an old derelict 59 Chev lying in his garage that was recovered from a scrap yard many years earlier. My sister said she saw a human skull on the seat and she was afraid of the car ever since. The car was sold around the mind 90s. It's a shame really because I would love to restore one of those cars and then I would have been able to see what it was she thought was a skull.

I'm not sure about posessed, but I once owned an ex-PMG EH ute that chewed through engines on a regular basis no matter who owned it or how it was driven.

My Escort, starts fine and goes hard when its just me.
When i take it out to race it, it cranks over like it has a flat battery and demands to be push started, and then runs like the timing is out.
Get it home, all good again.

Stage fright?
