Default AU II clock light

i have an AU II and the clock light bulb has blown.

the bulb base (plastic) is slightly larger than the lights in the air-con dial unit (which i have replaced)

i have spoken to ford and they say they don't stock them.

any ideas where i could find it.

I thought it would be a ford genuine part .... ???

I'm pretty sure that when i replaced mine, it was with one from the dash-cluster, which i think they have a part number for.

i tried part number AU 10G881 A. ($14.40...what a joke)

the bulb was too long and the diameter if the plastic base was slightly bigger nd woldn't go in all the way.

Also, the auto electrician says that it is not the odometer.

So i left the bulb with the lecy and he will try again.

So much trouble for such a little thing.

bloody hell, i paid no where near that. i think it was like $2 or something. very strange that the part number is different. i kept the plastic bag it came in for future reference. the globe i had to get was a small stumpy one about 6mm long including the black plastic base its fixed too.

You can definately buy a bulb from Ford for a couple of bucks at most unless it has been discontinued recently. Take the old one in and say get me one of them. From my experience what part number is on the packet at Ford is not necessarily what is inside the packet, especially for little things like bulbs and clips.

firstly remove the radio, then remove 2 screws, take out the ashtray.remove 2 screws.give the facia insert a decent pull and the clock is held in by 2 screws.note radio can be a ***** to get out,I used coat hanger inserted into the 4 holes and it needs a lot of jiggling from behind.good luck

I'll have to pull my clock out and re-check, but I think it's a t4 bulb. I'll double check tomorrow.
