Default Holden has something up their sleeve for Melbourne Motor Show?

Just found this article, I thought it made for an interesting read:

The article mentions the wagon possibly being a bit tricked up.

Get the feeling they are going to do their utmost to upstage Ford. It is already working, as it is all over the press.
Ford better pull their finger out. Awfully quiet at Ford, considering not long till show time. They should be drumming up excitement about the new falcon.

meh Ford have already shot themselves in the foot. I'm going to put it out there and say the Orion won't be what we all hope it will, and Ford will have no clue what to do, to save their backside. They've already taken far too long to release something which i believe, will only MATCH the VE series 1 from 2006.

Please prove me wrong though!

I'm guessing a 7 litre prototype, and yes most likely in a Torana.

Will it be a Commodore with a 5 star crash rating.... NOPE!

Will it be a commodore that drinks less than 10l per 100....NOPE!

Will it be an Omega with more than 200kw.... NOPE!

Let them have the win at the motor show then watch them bleed sales to Ford.

GMH have a long history of show stoppers and doing it very well.

With the whole world (or at least anyone who cares) knowing the the Orion release is at this years MMS. To think that they would not have several Concept / HSV 7L cars would be niave and to grossly underestimate a fairly worthy opponent.

Of course if FPV had a concept GTHO that would tilt the table in another direction wouldn't it?

I tell you what though, there is one thing Holden could put on display that would tear me away from the new Falcon.

I have a friend who has some inside info, but this was going back before the VE was released, he told me the Torana WILL be put into production, but not till 08, so that makes sense that they would unveil it there, Ford have A LOT of catching up to do really, the Orion better be good.

I'm leaning heavily towards the Torana.
I live 5 mins away from the Elizabeth production line and take my nephew to work at 4am.
Last week i saw what i thought was a VE commy but it was much smaller.
At the time i passed it off as one of those GM Daewoo front drive 6cyl things but it had a bit more get up and go than some Korean snot box.

Now you bring this up i wouldn't be surprised if it was a new Torana.

Makes sence to release a smaller RWD car when Ford deliver their typical family sized machine, much like the XD,VB days
